My oddball Squier Stratocaster

Here are some shots of my ST-331 short-scale Strat. It was made in Japan. A serial number on neck plate. It has a rosewood fretboard, black headstock, single humbucker, short Gibson 24.75" scale.. Output jack is in the pickguard. The two switches are a coil tap switch and a killswitch that I added in the early '90s. The pickup that was in it when I bought it was an Epiphone humbucker, but I put in a cheap EMG Select pickup when I dropped the guitar and ruined the pickup. This was my first guitar, and I would grab it if my house were on fire and I only had time to grab one of my guitars.

Cool! It reminds me of Tom DeLonge's Strat.

My brother bought one of those, red, in 1985 brand new. I bought an all black one last year off eBay. Good lord, what a guitar. It's already my main axe. Tone of the beast. With that coil tap on yours you'll be able to get pretty much any sound out of it you'd need.

I have a matched red pair of the ST-335s - the deluxe version - but frankly like the 331 better.

No s/n on the headstock so you've got one of the "A" series numbers, made in the Fuji-gen factory.

Enjoy it. They aren't making any more of those, and if people knew how awesome they were, they'd be going for a lot more than they do nowadays. Think I paid $150 or so for mine.

That does look somewhat like a Tom Delonge. Sweet guitar man, it's always great to have one like that with a story behind it too.

Yes, it's an A serial number, stamped into the neck plate.

I'd give $150 for these all day if I could find them. Mine's a little beat up so if I could find one in mint condition it would be mine.
