Long time teleplayer here....though I use a strat for those things that it does well....
Have had Thinline, Deluxe, No-name, American standard, and a few others I can't remember....
Changed from Gibsons to Teles when the older, wiser bass player I was with who was from Baltimore, MD suggested I listen to this guy called Roy Buchanan (who I met backstage and shared a beer with)....got a Tele that week....never looked back...except to maybe Danny Gatton (who I had the pleasure of meeting twice...have the old pickguard from my main Tele with his autograph and date)....
Been accused of trying to sound 'too much like a Buchanan/Gatton clone'....
So sue me.....
