Word on the street that Gibson worked with Joe Glaser to come up with this bender, and you can use it on the B or G string, how cool is that?? It will hit the market in Summer 2012 and MSRP is $1500.00 so street price should be cheap....
vincent March 15th, 2012, 11:49 PM Interesting..the pickguard is kinda Tele-ish.
Northerntele March 16th, 2012, 01:10 AM I don't normally say this... but that thing is ugly.
oramac7891 March 16th, 2012, 01:41 AM I don't like it one bit. The shape of the pg looks like a tele pg cut down to fit the Gibson. Why not make it less noticeable and do a regular LP with that awesome looking bender?
livepulse March 16th, 2012, 03:44 AM That's a $750 bender in a $750 guitar... is that why Joe is so busy lately?
milocj March 16th, 2012, 05:01 AM The bender setup looks nice. Is that the first time Glaser has made a bender that works on the upper bout instead of through the neck pocket area?
I agree with the pickguard, and I'm amazed that Gibson "forgot" they sued PRS for the Singlecut being as that guard and maple board sure seem to imply another manufacturer's singlecut guitar that beat them to the market in 1950.
jmiles March 16th, 2012, 09:21 AM I like it. It has the only good pickups that Gibson makes.
lewis March 16th, 2012, 09:47 AM Gibson's presence is so strong in Nashville that a product like this makes perfect sense but my credit will be staying in my wallet also.
jd_elam March 16th, 2012, 08:34 PM It would probably look better to me if it did not have the pickguard.
I wonder if it was needed to hide part of the bender mechanism?
TG March 16th, 2012, 08:42 PM Pickguard fail.
Alex W March 20th, 2012, 03:47 PM I would love to get my hands on one of these and try it in person. I like their looks but mainly I'm happy to see the market of available B bender guitars get bigger.
robt57 March 20th, 2012, 03:50 PM Interesting..the pickguard is kinda Tele-ish.
And ruins the look of the guitar totally IMO.
Yech!
klasaine March 20th, 2012, 04:15 PM That's the best 'new' and actually useful thing Gibson's come up with in a long time.
bender-freak March 20th, 2012, 07:00 PM I'm probably totally goofy in my thinking, but I beleive that pickguard would look a heckuva lot better if it came all the way around on the lower bout to encompass the tone and volume knobs.
I know I'm being silly here, but the fugly guard is an eyesore and a dealbreaker for me.
swleamon March 20th, 2012, 11:07 PM Ha! I bet this is why he has been busy :-)
1 year ago today I was put on the list for a bender installation. Stopped in a few months ago and was told about this project and that it would be another month. Well, still no call. I think I'll stop by tomorrow.
Here's to hoping this switchable system will work on a tele! $1200 for a G-B system is a bit pricey!
BrianF March 21st, 2012, 02:19 AM The guitar looks fine. Who cares about that pickguard? If it plays well and sounds well is all that matters IMHO
Donelson March 21st, 2012, 07:09 AM Looks like something Peavey would come up with. It does say Gibson on the headstock, though.
"Les Paul Junior Special" is also, a weird name. Maybe next will be the "Les Paul Standard Custom Deluxe".
The built-in bender IS an exciting development. If this one catches on, maybe they'll try some other designs, using that bridge etc.
Freight Twang March 21st, 2012, 10:07 PM Heck, we could take the PG off, put a Nudie and Frankfurt sticker on it, and let her rip....lol
telex76 March 21st, 2012, 10:53 PM Looks interesting.
Rick Towne March 22nd, 2012, 11:21 PM Almost like a Frank Reckard model, for you fans of b-bending lawyers who toured with Emmylou Harris. Frank's guitar was a double cutaway Gibson; I'm not a Gibson fan so I don't recall the Jr. model, nor do I know the maker of his bender. He did, however, do a good job following in Albert Lee's footsteps in the Hot Band.
City Sirens March 24th, 2012, 04:33 PM I LOVE IT
Paul G. May 7th, 2012, 05:28 AM I like it. Of course, no stores around here will carry it. ("I can order it for you" is the State motto), so I'd have to buy one sight unseen. Which I won't do.
I sure would like to try one out. P-90s and a Glaser Bender could be something special.

frankthomson May 7th, 2012, 07:31 AM that dont look real
bendecaster May 7th, 2012, 03:55 PM I wouldn't kick her out of my stable! I like it too!!!!
TelePeter May 8th, 2012, 12:55 AM I clicked on the anticipation that someone picked one up! Who's going to be the first to take a chance on this and report in?
Jayme November 26th, 2012, 04:10 PM I just picked one of these up at my favorite Houston guitar store (Fuller's Vintage Guitar) I'll have to put some pics up asap when i get home! The tooled leather case she came in was awesome too!!
brookdalebill November 26th, 2012, 04:49 PM Coolio!
J. Hayes November 26th, 2012, 05:08 PM for yours? I wouldn't mind having one of those if I could get it for a "reasonable" price, also, was the case included?..........JH in Va.
strat56 November 29th, 2012, 03:53 PM Looks like Sweetwater has them in stock for $1399.00
