It is easily the best od I have tried and I have had more than I care to admit! I have had many of the usual booteek suspects and the KOT is really the only one worth the extra scratch. My all time favorite pedal! Been playing mine for 2 years now. Still like to have a good tube screamer next to it and that covers all OD duties for me. It really is one of the greats!! Oh, it loves teles!!!! telerocker1988 March 13th, 2012, 02:27 AM Absolute favorite of favorite dirt pedals! I love this pedal. I'm on the list for a 2nd for my fly board. It's absolutely sick. Yellow side is very open, clear, and bluesy. Red side is more of what I would call a filtered OD/distortion where you have a lot more gain and a bit more thickness to the tone. Analog Mike is coming out with the "Prince Of Tone" soon, which as I understand it will be the yellow side of the KOT by itself, but maybe you can get the red side, not sure. But it's a standalone single pedal. I think this would be cool and maybe I'll have to try one. I love AM's stuff - he's very old school in his pedal designs and appeals to the classic rocker that I am. I'm looking for pedals that give me the sounds from my favorite recordings and the recordings I cover. The KOT does that perfectly. Highly recommended by this dude. Also check into the POT (Prince of Tone folks, not the "other" stuff.) when it launches if you just want that KOT tone in a single MXR sized enclosure and just one side of the pedal. Also - no waiting list on the POT from what I hear. It would be nice for someone who wants a transparent blues overdrive as that is exactly what the yellow side is, to me at least. czech-one-2 March 13th, 2012, 03:20 AM Also check into the POT (Prince of Tone folks, not the "other" stuff.) when it launches if you just want that KOT tone in a single MXR sized enclosure and just one side of the pedal. I Googled 'Prince of Tone' and only came up with Mike saying they had some other ideas, too. Where did you hear about this? BootRoots March 13th, 2012, 08:40 AM There is a thread over on TGP where mike has been filling people in as to the new single pedal version |
