Went to my favorite guitar store looking for an OM style guitar and walked out with this beautiful Bourgeois OO Style Custom mahogany! I have never had an acoustic guitar speak to me like this one! I am one very lucky and very happy guy- THANK YOU VIC (the guitar whisperer).

It has a balance of notes low to high like I have never heard! Can't put it down- lol! Don't know what I am gonna do when my new Kirn Tele is done in a few weeks! Oh bother! ;-)

How does the mahogany compare tonewise to a spruce top?

It's really well balanced and the whole tonal spectrum is even and lush with a warmth to it all. Sounds great is what I am saying- for single note runs or chords! A very full rich sound! Love it!

Dana makes one heck of a guitar - you are indeed a lucky man.

I had never played one before, but within 5 minutes I knew that it was THE one. I can't find one bad thing to say about it. I am indeed a very lucky man!

I've only played one Bourgeois (an HD-28 style guitar) and it was one of the best acoustics I've ever played. No exaggeration on this, I've played a lot of very high dollar guitars and there was something special about that Bourgeois that I'm yet to encounter in any other acoustic. It put out exactly what you put in and was super balanced across the strings. I loved it for fingerstyle and I usually hate dreadnoughts for this (especially when sans thumbpick, dreadnoughts overwhelm on the bass IME).

That's what I found- beyond balance and playability- it's just magic dust I guess.
