Hi, am just got me an inexpensive Telecaster (my first) and found this forum. I really like it so far. I am from the Dallas/Ft. Worth Texas area. I am looking forward reading posts and posting on this forum. A lot of information to wade through here.

Thanks, I mostly play bass even though I started playing guitar in 1964. I bought an inexpensive Telecaster (Indiana) as I "won" it on Ebay from 15 bidders with a "No Reserve" for $73. I wanted an inexpensive one as I wanted to customize it with my own pickups etc. and see how I liked it. I have a Fender American Special Jazz Bass I love and just the other night played a couple of Telecasters (an American Standard and an American Special). I loved the feel of the neck (slightly wider than mine but not chunky) and tone of the special and it seemed slightly lighter to me also. It had one little 1/16" chip on the back side's edge and they had it marked $600. Had I not just had to buy a Fender Guitar amp so I could play my guitar I could have gotten this. Needless to say it left me with a kind of sick feeling. Oh Well.
