Thanks! It's my dumbed-down version of "Blue Bossa." To be honest, it's as much "Parisienne Walkways" as it is "Blue Bossa."

I'm playing Amin7 - Dmin7 - G7 - Cmaj7 - Fmaj7 - Amin/E - E7 - A

nice tone

Gracias. I used a Boss ME25 on the Twin setting, recorded direct into the computer.

These types of songs are much more challenging to play. Nice job.
Try these chords
Ami6 - Dmi7 - G7 - Bmi b5 - E7b9 - Ami6 - cmi7 - F7 - BbMa7 - Bmi7b5 - E7 - Ami6

I do it in C though

Thanks - I will try those. I don't consider myself a jazz guitarist by any stretch, but I welcome any opportunity to learn.

Not trying to be a jerk but, what happened to the melody?

to the OP,
I think your guitar has a really nice tone .
as far as the tune go's
there happens to be a lot of suspicious activity's going on with your playing over the changes .
(no problem just an observation ;)

since you mentioned that you were willing to learn ,

I can respect that .

I put up a version of Blue Bossa as a separate thread of my own.
(rather than stuffing here on your thread ;)

fwiw...keep at it ,
playing over tunes simply does not happen over night by itself .
it takes hard work and time spent in the woodshed.

all the best ,

Kenny

With no small degree of embarrassment, I am forced to confront several uncomfortable facts: (1) My little tune does not contain the melody of "Blue Bossa" (although I did try to allude to the melody); (2) said tune also does not contain the chord changes of "Blue Bossa"; (3) I'm not even sure that I have a proper bossa nova rhythm going on; and finally (4) in light of 1-3, this piece of music cannot in any respect be considered "Blue Bossa."

So, I have taken two actions to remedy this awkward state of affairs:

First, I have removed the video. I may re-post it under a more appropriate and accurate title, such as "Not Quite Blue Bossa," "Beige Zumba," or maybe "Undifferentiated Noodling in A Dorian Over The Changes To Parisienne Walkways, The Purpose Of Which Is To Demonstrate The Tone of This Particular Guitar." Or maybe I'll just leave it alone.

Second, I will attempt to actually play "Blue Bossa" complete with correct changes, melody, etc. If I succeed, I'll post it. If not, I'll just continue playing surf music.

Do it man, keep at it! And record those correct changes...Blue Bossa is essentially a study in altered doms and major and minor ii V's...don't be afraid of it.

Listen ravenously...and remember, when the chord changes, you change...put the scales away and look at the information the chords give you...it's all right there.

Thanks for the encouragement. I am finding your online lessons helpful as well.
