Too soon after the FCS (http://www.tdpri.com/forum/telecaster-discussion-forum/313926-what-do-master-builders-actually-do.html) thread? Just kidding, jeeze... He is a master craftsman in wood, words and wisdom. His guitars are heirloom players. I'm sure you won't be disappointed. Bb ESQUIRE JR February 27th, 2012, 11:57 AM Congrats! Should be bangin'! abracadabra February 27th, 2012, 12:56 PM Just ordered a Ron Kirn Strat.... need I say more? yes! give us a few details! congrats btw. it's gonna be tough, but worth the wait methinks! :) aballen February 27th, 2012, 01:09 PM yes! give us a few details! congrats btw. it's gonna be tough, but worth the wait methinks! :) Nothing crazy really. Neck: Figured maple, strat headstock, ebony fretboard with abalone inlay, compound radius, schaller locking tuners, satin finish. Body: Walnut to brown burst, there is one out there already just like this one... it a very natural looking burst, which is why I love it. All hardware will be brushed chrome, not as shiny, or prone to fingerprints. Wilkonson tremolo, black 3ply pick guard, Ron Kirn over wound pickups. Not sure if my knobs and pickups will be white or black yet... is black on black too much? abracadabra February 27th, 2012, 01:43 PM ^^that sounds great. I'd go with black on black myself, I think, but hard to say without seeing it all together. :) aballen February 27th, 2012, 01:46 PM yeah I'm thinking black on black... the pickguard will be a 3ply black on top white in the middle, so there will be a nice outline there.... Dear God I just spoke with him like 3 hours ago... and I'm already bouncing off the walls.... this is going to be a long couple of months. chrom-freak February 27th, 2012, 04:41 PM congrats! i'd go black on black. you mainly see black but have a white line. i'd have the same schematic for knobs. mainly black, white detail. black pup covers to match it all. djphelan01 March 1st, 2012, 06:56 PM Congrats you will love it when it arrives . I have one and aft gettin it I sold my AVRI 57. |
