Classic, super comfortable, and tone to die for! Yours is beautiful, treat it well! winny pooh February 28th, 2012, 10:38 AM drooooool 4mal March 5th, 2012, 09:22 PM Ah, I like it! I'm rockin a Sterling Classic in Seafoam, White and maple on rock gigs these days and a Stingray fretless in tobacco burst and pau ferro a lot these days. I'm a recent convert to EBMM. Really nicely made instruments. Janitor Julius March 8th, 2012, 11:14 PM Okay... long story. The bass I got in the first pic had terrible fret sprout, so I returned it and ordered a similar one from another city. It arrived and was really a great bass but had some hum on one of the pickups and no case. I fully intended to take it to a tech and keep it but then I found this baby. It's a Classic Stingray 5 in "retro burst" with the ash body, tinted birdseye neck, and rosewood fretboard. It's a little harder to play because I'm transitioning from guitar and it doesn't sound as "rock and roll" as the HH with ebony but it's a darn nice bass and I got it for what I think is a steal! It'll be a real joy learning bass on such a fine piece of craftsmanship! dlb1001 March 9th, 2012, 09:54 AM Nice 'ray! Too bad the first one had fret sprout. You still came out ahead since the Classic 'Ray is a fine lookin' bass. You will find that the low B string is killer! mike257 March 9th, 2012, 11:04 AM Haha, a 'ray for a first bass is a pretty good starting point! Can't go wrong with them - I have a natural/maple SR4 that I will NEVER ever part with. Incredible sounding instruments. |
