Black guitars look cool by themselves, but

...not so much when you're playing them. They kinda end up hidden, you need bright colors to make the guit stand out and "pop". In my opinion, of course.

Please discuss.

I had a bunch of black guitars years ago when they were all pawnshop prizes. All of the 24 guitars I have now I've bought new and none are black. Jus sayin!

What about black guitars with white binding?

LTD XTone - Only black guitar I own. It shows up across the room, and so does any smudge, fingerprint, or speck of dirt.

I think that can help, and so can a light colored pickguard. But too often black guitars just kind of disappear when being played, I think (especially if you're wearing black).

I've got 4 black guitars myself (Les Paul, Explorer, Telecaster, and SX JZM gumbyguit). And I don't plan on getting any more, for that reason.

Like I said, just my opinion.

Johnny Cash is quoted as having said "There's only one reason for ever wearing a white jacket, and that's if your mother made it"

Love black! My favorite strat is the one on "Whose Line is it, anyway?" The guitarist on that show has a strat that has a black body, hardware, pickups and 'guard. The neck has a decent amber tint to it. Killer looking guitar, IMHO. Will probably replicate that one of these days.

Johnny Cash also told Roy Orbison to sing lower and change his name. Ooops!

Side truss rod adjustment, no neck fret dot inlays, flame, and double bound!!! That is sweet. What does the toggle do? Any different then a pull knob?

The bridge pickup is a Duncan Quarter Pound with a coil tap - that mini-toggle is the tap switch.

Black is great! Keef`s black `72 custom is what got me here! Get a brighter spotlight if you want your guitar seen -but shouldn`t they notice YOU, then your guitar? ? ?

I have lots of black guitars and some that have no black. Playing in a worship band, I sort of don't want to stand out. I thought about playing this one, but sold it before I had the guts to even bring it to rehersal....
