Just thought I'd share this version of the old bluegrass tune "Freeborn Man" that I played at a gig a few weeks ago. Someone randomly videoed this and the sound is kinda bad. (distorted and what-not) I apologize for that, but you can hear it enough to get the idea. lol It's a little rough, but the band and I just do this tune for fun any how. Hope you all enjoy!

Trey has that bluegrass background....and a lot of those songs could be a real treasure trove for someone looking to bring some new material into the telecaster world...
There was a thread about what old pop songs would make good tele instrumentals...
But maybe there should be a thread on what bluegrass tunes could be turned into great telecaster / chicken pickin' songs....
Could you imagine Albert Lee taking a telecaster lead on this New Grass Revival tune?

I agree 100%... There are a ton of great bluegrass songs out there that would make great chicken picking tele songs. I always thought Albert Lee would have torn Freeborn Man apart. However, I doubt there are very many tunes that Albert Lee couldn't tear apart though. lol I guess where I played bluegrass for a while, these old bluegrass types of songs are what come to mind first when my band and I do "cover songs".
