My delay boosts my signal when I turn it on. What the heck?

I suspect the Joyo ultumate drive is the culprit. Although I have no idea why this happens. I had a boss bass chorus stuck on the end just for kicks and it did the same thing. It also does not do it every time.

I had the delay in a different spot and that seemed to help (second pic)...but then the delay was very pronounced with dirt sounds and not so much with clean.

I may take the delay off. This small issue is making me dislike the board so if I canīt figure out and fix this, I may just have one less pedal.

Has anyone ever had this sort of thing happen?

Some pedals just do that. I have a tremolo pedal that adds volume and one that reduces it. Have you Googled to see if your delay has a reputation for adding volume? There may be a mod for it.

I am doing some searches for similar problems. It sounds like a impedance/buffer/true bypass issue. How to sort these things out is beyond me at the moment.

It's a bummer because these pedals sound great. The delay is no exception.

My Joyo Chorus does this. It is for sale.

What I'm saying is look to see if your specific delay make and model has this issue - not whether it's a general problem with buffers and what have you. Like I said, some pedals are just made in a way that makes a bit of a change to the signal level.
