I started a page on Facebook to hook up with other musicians in West Texas. If anyone would like to join, this is where to do so:

I look forward to meeting new members. Thanks!

Good luck with that!
Considering West Texas is about as big as 8 or 10 New England states combined, you have a lot of territory to cover. Gota be difficult finding band mates who live within a reasonable driving distance.
But I love West Texas a great deal, especially the Big Bend and Guadalupe Mountain National Parks. Beautiful open country out there...
Let us know if you find some good jam buddies.
Take care...

Thanks. I'm situated between Lubbock & Abilene. It's hard to find people. Lol.

I was born and raised in San Angelo, but I moved away in May of '91, and haven't seen the town at all since about April or May of '93.
There were always tons of pickers out there in those days, and not nearly enough gigs to keep everybody busy. Partly why I left. I hear these days there's alot more gigs, and fewer pickers. Seems like a better ratio, but could definitely make it harder to find good people.
I see your profile says you're in Snyder. I used to gig there back twenty years ago or so. It was either an American Legion or VFW hall, I don't remember which... Always a nice time though, very nice people out that way. I think we used to play football against y'all in high school too, but I don't remember for sure. That was a long time ago. Anyhow, good luck, I hope you find some great folks. When I was growing up gigging out there, there were some scary pickers out in West Tejas. I know a really good fiddle player in Lubbock still. Not sure who else would still be out there.
I'm no longer anywhere near there, but being that I'm from West Texas, and a musician, I'll join your page if I'm allowed.

I've got a cousin in San Angelo. She plays banjo in a bluegrass group and bass in a country group. I'll tell her about your facebook page.
