jebbo February 8th, 2012, 12:03 PM I'm curious to see what you guys are using for worship in the pedal department. Amp top pedals are welcome to this thread aswell. I'm currently working on my board. I still need an MXR CC and a Voodoo Lab Micro Vibe. I also plan on replacing my Dunlop DC brick with a Voodoo Lab Pedal Power 2+. Here is what I'm running now in order.
Guitar_ Dunlop GCB95_ Boss TU-3_ Boss DF-2 MIJ_ Keeley Modded Boss SD-1_ Boss CE-2 MIJ_ Amp
The crybaby, tu-3, and sd-1 are powered by a Dunlop DC brick. The df-2, and ce-2 are powered by a 9v battery. The MIJ ACA boss pedals run at 12v with the adapter. It converts to 9v inside the pedal. If you use a 9v battery on the battery clip, it is already 9v. That is why I need a new pedal power. The Dunlop doesn't put out 12v_ only 9v, or 18v.
JHall55 February 8th, 2012, 04:17 PM I think (hope) I'm done my board. Just bought the final two pedals this week and they should be here any day now. Hoping to trade my chorus for a phaser this weekend and that should be it. As of now it runs:
Guitar>TU3>Clyde Deluxe>Ego Comp>Paisley OD>Amp
The effects loop is:
Wampler Nirvana>Vox Time Machine Delay>EHX Holy Grail.
Next week the effects loop will look like this if all goes well:
Phaser (either EVH Phase 90 or Pigtronix)>Empress Superdelay>Empress Tremolo>Holy Grail.
I also bought an original EHX POG this week and once it arrives, I'll figure out where it the chain it belongs.
Pics to come next week.
Teleworshipkid February 8th, 2012, 06:44 PM Already a couple threads for this here, but I'll go again, thanks to the wondrous magic of cut-copy-paste!
**************************************************
Pedaltrain 2, chain is:
-Fender Telecaster FMT HH (amazing guitar, if I needed another I would get the same thing.)
-Fulldrive 2 FM/CompCut (in CompCut mode. I leave it always on, and hit the boost for overdriven tones.)
-Radial Tonebone Hot British Distortion (Marshall in a box. This thing is legit.)
-Ernie Ball VPJR w/ Tuner out to TC Polytune (amazing tuner, gonna get the EB active modded.)
-Strymon Timeline (AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! RIDICULOUSLY AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!)
-Fender Blues Junior (Crazy good amp, but I smell a Morgan in my future.)
- Miked with an e906 (got this cool high contour switch.)
All wired up with George L's and powered by a Cioks DC10 (do any Danish people out there know how to pronounce it? I believe it's "chucks"???). Planning on filling the open space with a Disaster Area DMC-6 for the Timeline. Also working with JHS to replace the full drive with an EP/808 2-in-1.
aiolosa February 8th, 2012, 06:49 PM Boss DD7 and a ts9dx through a vox ac15 tele all I ever really use.
SoVeryTired February 20th, 2012, 09:34 AM Subject to change, but currently:
Guitar -> tuner -> Boss OD3 -> amp
Loop: Boss DD20 delay -> Danelectro Cool Cat tremolo
Pretty simple really but I also have a Boss CE5 chorus that I usually use with my acoustic guitar and have recently acquired a Crybaby wah and Morley volume pedal which I need (okay, want!) to incorporate into my set-up. I need to get a pedalboard though as I'm currently setting everything up from scratch each week so only pull out the pedals I know I'm going to use for that week's setlist, e.g. this week, when I'm leading worship so am singing as well, I'll keep it simple and just set up the tuner and OD3.

Its an ever evolving board... ( or should I say revolving???) the Rat gets swapped out some, the fab echo gets bumped some... but I'm super happy with the Digitech Rp300a, Lets me have settings for the acoustic twelve string, the tele nine string or any of the other dozen guitars I may pull out that week... and still use just one board. Morley splitter takes it direct to the PA and out to my little Bugera 5 watt.

If I could replace my board with any that I've seen....this would be IT!!
JHall55 March 20th, 2012, 10:12 AM Lots of modulation, but only one OD? Hats off!
I hardly even use the Paisley anymore. I used it a fair bit with my Tiny Terror, but not much since I sold that. My main amp (Marshall AFD100) doesn't have a clean channel (but has two fantastic "modes" - AFD and #34), and my Traynor has such a great gain/boost channel that unfortunately the Paisley doesn't see much use.
63dot March 20th, 2012, 10:26 AM those are all great setups

lol...Thanks. It has taken me quite a while to get to this point. Nothing wrong with the Hillsong/U2 tone model but I was going for more of an Eric Johnson/Brewster/Bonamassa vibe. Used it in this configuration for the first time Sunday...Very pleased but I changed so much in such a short time that I am having to do some serious re-dialing in of my tone. It will be fun the next couple weeks tweaking the settings.

I know what you mean. I've been meaning to tweak my tone this week since I took my Marshall GV-2 out of my pedalboard, but I left my amp at church last sunday. I'll have to get it right at rehearsal tonight lol...

That is really cool having all that stuff. I would get completely lost. I never heard of Bonamassa until this year and I saw him on public TV. He got tones and did stuff with effects which was very unique. He can have attacks like a violin and also like all the horns and somehow he keeps it all in order. So I go to youtube and I find this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_5GMTfY6yoc
Four different amps with a whole bunch of effects (and put to full use instead of minor coloring of a tone). This reminds me of the Edge but more high tech. I wouldn't know how a guitarist keeps things on cue while also trying to worry about the music side of things. I know Clapton had a large rack in the 1980s/1990s and worked it out somehow.
sass35011 March 20th, 2012, 03:05 PM My effects chain works like this... guitar - Boss Blues Driver - Boss SD-1 Overdrive - Boss DS-1 distortion - Boss super Chorus - MXR Mirco Amp - Delta Lab Delay - Boss 7 Band EQ - amp. With a DC Brick for power. This combination works well for me and gets all the sounds I need for my church worship music.

The Flashback is the most awesome delay for it's size.
Have you picked and uploaded a toneprint to it yet?
I use an Ambient toneprint that they made for a bass guitar but it works sooooo good for regular guitar when you want more spacey-ness.
jazzrat April 2nd, 2012, 12:35 PM yup...love the Toneprint feature. I got the free Ipod Touch ap too. You can beam TonePrint settings through the pickup of your guitar to the pedal. AMAZING and way more convenient than hooking up via usb.

Wait...that app works for ipod touch too!?
I thought it was only iPhone!!?
YAY! If this is true I don't have to upgrade my phone!!
jazzrat April 2nd, 2012, 05:38 PM you have to have the latest firmware but it works terrific!
It installs ALL of the tone prints on the phone/Touch so I can change in literally 10 seconds. Much faster than USB.
You select the TP you want....hold the Touch close to whatever pickup you have selected.
Toneprint has to be selected and the pedal on. The speaker on the Touch makes a digital sounding squeeky sqwauk noise...the l.e.d on the pedal flashes and you are done.
amazing
jebbo April 5th, 2012, 01:15 PM Here's my updated board. I moved some stuff around, and I added the CC. I also posted a pic of the "new" Tele. It's a 89 American Standard. It's not all original, but it isn't exactly vintage anyway. For the fun of it, I also posted a pic of the family. I think the new Tele will fit in just fine.
bear04 April 6th, 2012, 08:20 AM I don't have much for effects. Tuner > OD > Boost > Delay. I get my Tremolo and Reverb from my Vox AC15C1. I also use an ABY box to switch between my AC15 and my Marshall Haze 15. I don't use any effects for my Marshall, only the drive channel on the head. I mic my amps unless I'm playing in a small setting.

jebbo May 22nd, 2012, 04:03 PM Moved everything around again. I added the Boss DD-3 and the CS-9 is on the board while my CE-2 is getting fixed and modded. I put a power strip under the board so the DD-3 can run on its own adapter. The DC brick can't handle the MA requirements for it. I think I need to invest in a Pedaltrain and a Voodoo lab Pedal Power. This board is getting heavy and I can't fit the one other pedal I plan to buy. I'm liking this setup though, it's very nice having two delays.

That's a custom MaxxPlay (http://www.maxxplay.us/models/n-models2.html) patch box that I asked Anthony to build. It can switch pedals from the amps loop or in-front. I had 2 amps before, one has a loop and the other doesn't.
Right now, it's not hooked up for that, just straight board to amp connection.

jbmando June 13th, 2012, 09:05 PM Well, it has been a trial and error process, but I think I have settled on my pedal lineup. I'm using an SKB powered board and it goes:
Guitar>Dunlop CryBaby>Moen UniComp>MHP 72°>Dano Cool Cat Tremolo> Dano Cool Cat Vibe> Ernie Ball VPjr volume pedal>HardWire DL-8 Delay (for tapping direct rhythm)>Line 6 Echo Park (for tapping quarter notes and getting dotted eighth repeats)> Blues Junior NOS Tweed w/ Eminence Red White and Blues speaker instead of the Jensen, miked to board. I have a Korg Pitchblack coming off the tuner out of the volume pedal.
jarrodmichael June 13th, 2012, 11:55 PM I have the bare minimum I can get away with while still being able to get in the ballpark of the style we're doing. For me, I have one overdrive and one delay. It's amazing what can be done with those, plus a tele and Princeton Reverb.
I guess I have a tuner too but I don't necessarily count that as an 'effect' pedal. Just a convenience.

Im using a Gt8 and a Marshal DSL401, using the GT8 with the 4CM, and using my amp's Prepamp, and the GT8 FXs (i don't use the GT8 Amps much, just for selected tunes), and i like the sound im getting out of it.
I bought the GT8 recently, about 1 month ago, so im still learning how to use it, but what i've done so far, i really like it.
PS: Those aren't actual pics.
GregWV August 12th, 2012, 01:58 PM Tjalla - just checking your board out and just noticed that our Tim's have the exact same settings. Is your toggle switch in the middle?

GregWV - actually those settings prob got bumped around a bit. I cut the eq more that that - bass around noon-1, treble around 1-2 depending on the guitar. That is however with the Durham sex drive on, and tone most of the way up - I like to drive the signal with top end content early, and dial it back accordingly - hence the Tim/Menatones all having treble roll-off. Switch is most def in the middle however:-)
jonhart August 13th, 2012, 05:21 PM Here's my new board, and a new pedal. I added a Matsumin Valvecaster. The new order is-
Boss TU-3, Dunlop GCB-95, Keeley SD-1, Matsumin Valvecaster, Boss DD-3, MXR Carbon Copy
Greg M August 14th, 2012, 10:25 PM Here's mine updated with the addition of the EJ Fuzz Face...
http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/ee46/tomandlainey/100_9265pb.jpg
Now that's a board! A surf board .
These are all nice pedal boards.
jonhart September 29th, 2012, 10:36 AM Another update to my board. The pot in my wah broke, so I need to fix that. I'm also going to true bypass mod it. I ordered the parts for it, so I should get those sometime soon. My old Boss CE-2 that has been broken for the past six months is with Keeley right now being repaired and modded. I should get that back sometime next week. I'm so glad I can put that back on my board.
There's one new addition. I just finished building a Tonebender clone a couple days ago, so now I have a nice fuzz on the board. I also managed to get my power supplies under the board, and I even have them wired to a main power switch on top of the board. (That's what that little green switch is to the right.) Anyway, here's the order for now-
Boss TU-3, Tonebender clone, Keeley SD-1, Matsumin Valvecaster, Boss DD-3, MXR Carbon Copy
By late next week I should have my CE-2 and the wah back on there. I'm still thinking about replacing the DD-3, but for now it's fine.
adkima00 October 1st, 2012, 09:45 AM I'm in the middle of a do over on my board. I'm going with a lattice design that will be very similar to jonhart's. I almost never use my wah, so it's coming off the board, but it will still be in the bag so I can bring it out if needed. It will be tu3 > rat clone > ts808 clone > small clone chorus clone > ibanez ddl delay > amp. Most of the wood is cut. I hope to finish the construction and paint tonight. Pics to follow....

adkima00 October 1st, 2012, 09:29 PM I'll wire it up tomorrow, but here it is..... Nothing special here, but I get a good sound....

tjalla October 1st, 2012, 11:40 PM Latest update with Strymon Flint. Lehle looper switches multiple pedals AND pickups simultaneously - just to be difficult/different
jbmando October 2nd, 2012, 12:39 AM I think I have to do something with my pedal board. It is way too heavy. I had to buy a moving dolly to get my stuff in and out of my home and church. I might go with a small home-made board and power it with my One Spot. This thing is stupid heavy. BTW, the latest iteration of my board replaces the FAB chorus with a DOD FX64 chorus. I think I'm done adding effects. Now I have to subtract some maybe and get a lighter board.

I hear you. I wanted something that I could just throw in a backpack and go. My last update may be to replace the ibanez delay with a boss dd sometime soon..

A good benchmark test right there!
jbmando October 2nd, 2012, 11:34 AM Yeah, and we're only talkin' the SKB board with eight pedals and a tuner, a Blues Junior a guitar and a small cable/paraphernalia bag. That board weighs forty pounds.

You could easily fit those pedals on a Pedaltrain 2 (maybe even a PT 1), mount a power supply underneath, and cut the weight way down. Heck, I've got 7 pedals, a PRO DI, and a VL ISO 5 on a PT Jr for my acoustic, and it all fits great.
caleb.lapish October 2nd, 2012, 01:48 PM Here is mine.
tjalla October 2nd, 2012, 01:54 PM My PT1 is overflowing - see posts a few back, but it holds:
Lehle D.Loop
EB Jr Vol
DD20
Analogman KOT V2 (bigbox)
Strymon Flint
Green Rhino
Dano Fish & Chips
Dunlop Univibe
EP Booster
Menatone Red Snapper
DD7
TU-2
...and T-Rex Fuel Tank topside. I could mount it underneath and save more room but I'm lazy to drill and I reckon it looks cool.
That being said - I have lost sleep over getting this board just so.
jonhart October 2nd, 2012, 07:26 PM My board is done.., for now anyway. I got my CE-2 back from Keeley, it's absolutely AMAZING ! I'm glad I went through with the mod. I also fixed my wah. While putting a new pot in it, I modded it to true bypass, added a yellow LED, and a yellow fasel inductor. I like it, but it has a little too much bass for my tastes. I'm still tweaking it though. It has a pretty bad hum too, but like I said I'm still messing with it. I'm just glad I have a wah again. Here's the new order-
Boss TU-3, Dunlop GCB-95, Tonebender clone, Keeley SD-1, Matsumin Valvecaster, Keeley CE-2, Boss DD-3, MXR Carbon Copy
makki_0709 October 3rd, 2012, 08:35 AM Just finished reorganizing mine and making room for the newest addition... my Morley Distortion Wah Volume.

Argh! Been dreaming about the possibility of adding a Whammy V to the board. Not sure how I'll fit it.

Yep. And with Liquid Nails as an adhesive... nothin's falling off of that board.
gatimberframer October 3rd, 2012, 07:37 PM Here's mine. The board is just a poplar 1x8 I planed down to 1/2" thick and rattle canned for black. Add a Velcro strip and four little rubber feet and there you go.
Had an extra spot (waiting for someone to give me a reverb pedal ;-)) so I put the GE7 on there. Helps fatten things up since I have to keep my amp pretty quiet. Amp is usually a 5f4 clone but sometimes a pathfinder 15 if I want to lighten the load.
I would love to upgrade the delay and maybe get a Flint to give me reverb and replace the tr2. Ain't happening any time soon though.
All in all I'm pretty happy with it -- this is my worship/blues/rock/country/whatever else I play board.
nrand October 17th, 2012, 06:46 AM My CIOKS DC 8 finally arrived today and it all fits. I bought some Stage Trix pedal risers which are really handy for routing and for storing excess cable. The only thing is I find them a bit too space consuming out of the box so I hacksawed off all the end tabs and filed them smooth.

For my acoustics I run - Tuner - A/B - Volume - Redeye - JC120 with 1 side of my FX processor.
For my electrics, from the volume pedal, I run Blackstone > Fuzz [not used in worship but I also play elsewhere] > Rodenberg GAS 828 > Tremolo > BigShot ABY > JC120 [channel one with Vibrato and the other half of my FX unit in the loop for delays etc] & Laney VC30 212 - the two amps in stereo.
themandolinguy October 20th, 2012, 07:55 PM 132113 Heres mine.
That is, TU-3>OCD>DD-7 (with tap tempo)>EB Volume>MXR CC. Powered with a PP2+. I love my board. Everything else i could get would just be extra. this board can do absolutely everything i need.
running with a Mexi Tele and a Vox ac15
Do you only need one OD pedal?
WideAwake October 31st, 2012, 09:35 AM Latest setup. Pretty happy with this one, but I'll never say it's done...

jbmando November 25th, 2012, 07:03 PM Final update. (Yeah, right!)
Fender Mustang Floor.
I made a patch of:
Amp: '65 Twin
Stomp: Overdrive
Mod: Wah
Delay: Tape delay
Reverb: '65 Spring
Through the Blues Junior I turn the bass and treble all the way down, the mids all the way up, no reverb, fat switch up, and no preamp breakup. Sounds divine!:lol: My Bandit, which I have been using, is at the church and I have been off since the 4th of November, so I guess I'll see how I like my sound through it.
I'm going to see if I need my Echo Park or if I can count in the dotted eighth taps. I can get them without the pedal converting them but it's easier with the dotted setting. I am getting a decent amp compressed sound from the unit, so I'll see if I need to add the compressor. I think this is it. I love the sound of my board but it's too heavy. I can't stand hauling it in and out of the church to play.
jswiss November 27th, 2012, 06:30 PM That is, TU-3, Crybaby, OCD, Barber LTD, EB Volume, DD-7 (w/ tap tempo), Carbon Copy, Xotic EP Boost.
makki_0709 December 2nd, 2012, 01:47 PM My board... reloaded! Got a Flashback X4 this week to replace my Modtone Analog Delay.
big bad strat January 4th, 2013, 01:25 AM this is my latest updated pedalboard. This set up works really well in worship.

I don't know how you hit the upside down pedals without moving knobs
Usarmydrummer January 20th, 2013, 07:00 PM I don't know how you hit the upside down pedals without moving knobs
I believe it actually makes it easier to not hit the knobs with them being on the top. I don't have to squeeze my foot in between two sets of knobs. Try it out sometime, you'll be pleasantly surprised. If I was playing on a flat board I can see how it might be a problem.
Snowwizard January 20th, 2013, 07:42 PM My board isn't flat so ill have to try it :)

MikeScrivens January 24th, 2013, 09:59 PM I'm new to playing guitar in worship. I'm first/foremost the bass player, but am starting to lead worship and I want to play guitar when I do. My set-up is simple at the moment. The past couple times that I've led, I plugged into an MXR od and Boss Blues Driver staright into the PA. Not a bad sound, but the PA made it sound fuzzy. Last week, I finally picked up my Bugera V5, which I mic'd, and played my SX Tele through a Boss Blues Driver. Loved the sound on stage and I'm looking forward in seeing/hearing the weekly dvd to see if the sound was better through the house and board. I'll add more pedals when I'm just playing and not having to lead the band, but in the meantime, I'm quite pleased with my set up.
btw, love seeing all the pedalboards on this thread. gives me pedal envy!!

TU-3,GFS Dual OD, GFS Brownie, EH DoctorQ, Dano Flange, Dano Chorus, MXR Carbon Copy, and Behringer noise filter. I plan on adding a volume pedal soon. May phase out the chorus and flanger. Hardly ever use them.

LOL love it!
Mine is Tube amp channel switch Digital Verb Delay Chorus and Wah.
2 of my amps are single channel high gain rigs with NO CLEANS and NO REVERB!
I NEVER use a dirt box run my amps pretty dirty and use my pickup selector and roll back my volume to clean up.
Good to see you here Brian BTW!
FosterF January 31st, 2013, 12:31 AM So close to perfect. But of course, not there yet.
Either a Les Paul Custom or Les Paul Junior into:
Boss TU-2 > Custom FF Wah > Custom FF Boost > Fulltone FD2 > Custom FF OCD Clone > Goodrich L10K > Line 6 DL4 w/ expression pedal > Boss DD-5 > DeltaLabs DD-1 > EHX Nano Grail > Boss RV-5 stereo out
Depending on where I play: Vox AC15C1, Vox AC30HW, Orange AD30 I run the stereo into both channels on the Vox amps.
As far as delays, the DD-5 is for dotted eighths, the DL4 is for quarter notes, dotted quarters, and analog using the expression to add in modulation or control repeats and mix, the DD-1 is just for slapback.
The AB/Y box was being used to switch the signal from the amp to a DI to use an acoustic as well.

Thanks! As far as the nova, I traded my dl4 in on it about 6 months ago an it definitely took me a while to get the hang of how it works but in the end I would say it was definitely a great trade off. It's a lot less of a tone sucker than the dl4 was as well which is a plus. Haha

KOT and amp11 placed side-by-side so I can hit two footswitches at once (ie get both L&R dirty simultaneously).

itsscottwilder April 17th, 2013, 03:53 PM Cool pedal strip! How does it work for you?
It's magic! The biggest problem is programming the memory slots in a way that you can remember what each patch is.
It's awesome for those of us who hate doing the pedal dance.
And at $300 it's priced well.
TeleMark85 May 4th, 2013, 05:45 PM Here's what I've been using for the last while. Just bought a digitech fs300 for the eventide.
Haven't added it yet. Anyone else use one of these for the timefactor?
