Good Bye Yellow Brick Road

I joined my brothers oldies Pop Rock N-Roll 50s 60s 70s band about a year and half ago. I replaced their Lead guitarist who they fired. This band was in a shams and in dire need of a leader. They were only practicing 4hrs a month and couldn't understand why they were not going any where :shock:

Thru much hard work, I got the band well rehearsed with 46 song set list and took us out last Summer and stared doing shows. Im 45yrs old and have 2 very bad herniated disc in my back and can not continue doing a full evening show any longer..(surgery is not an option at this point) sitting or standing :sad: I told my brother to replace me and that I would stay on to help the new lead guy out in practice...but my brother decided to pull the plug and wants to move on to other things. He is the Bass player but he wants to finish learning guitar and play guitar in another band at some point :roll:

For myself, I will find other things to do musically and people to play with down the road for a nites jam...and continue my studies on the guitar. Just thought I would share that another band has hit skid row :cool:

Sorry to hear about the bad run of luck. It's tough putting that kind of effort into something only to see it fall apart anyhow. Hope you get some kind of relief on your back.

Getting another Guitar player wouldn't be that hard.

Agreed :sad: One of the 2 singers called me last nite and was very unsettled about all of this. Everyone one in the band, was told by my brother that he just wanted to move on into other things. He didn't tell them about my back issues and that I would be dropping out of the band and that they would have to replace me. It was my brothers decision not to bring someone else in...nothing I could do about that :roll:
