Flame Maple Atlas Amp Stand - Studio 112

Atlas Stands
February 3rd, 2012, 10:44 PM
Just started the next build. The intended amp will be a Carr Raleigh with burgundy tolex and flame maple valances. This is going to be a simple yet elegant Studio 112 amp stand out of AAAA Curly maple. The grain will be popped with a brown dye and then taken back to it's natural color before the clear coat is applied.

Pics to come of the build:

yeah, woulda been nice no matter what it was turned into. This lumber speaks for itself:) The stand owner had me get it special for him to match his Carr Raleigh Cab

I have more that is actually closer to 2 inches thick. Might make a tele out of a chunk of it:)

I was pullin' your leg, but that's the kinda maple that some guitar makers charge $2000 extra for.

no worries:)

it's some sweet lumber for sure. It's hard to chop up no matter what it's gonna be made into.

The owner picked it out special.

 Haha....Nice timber for sure

Plenty of nice flamed guitars out there to choose from already, yet only two flame maple Atlas Amp Stands in the world and more on the way.

Users have had plenty to say.

http://www.atlas-stands.com/index.php/testimonials

We resist the urge to horde lumber for use on a single product category. We own a hardwood amp stand company and we use the wood types that our customers request.

We also build music stands, pedal chassis, pedal boards, amplifier and speaker cabinets, jewelry boxes, toys, pens, and much more out of premium grade timbers. The waste wood gets used one way or another as the pieces get smaller.

We're do our best to avoid turning down a build if we don't have to, that would not be good business. If we have the wood you want, we're happy to use it up.

It's nice to finally bring new excitement to the product category that has been "static and stale' for decades now. It's about time some nice amp stands were made. I've owned several metal stands, milk crates, stools and chairs in the past and it's been a long time coming.

We enjoy working AAAA lumber. Naturally, the best part is knowing more will grow, abundance is the mentality here. Atlas Stands stands are built to last.

The next two are gonna be made of some premium Black Walnut.

Kind Regards,
Josh

Yeah we don't do that with Atlas builds...you can find this kind of lumber for way way way less than that if you look around...lol...and you work it the same way as any other hardwood. The difference is in the dye, stain, and clear coat applications. This particular wood can take on a gazillion different appearances. The owner wanted it closer to natural to match his amplifier.
