Well, my band is kicking off it's first live performance: A live "Showcase" on March 3rd, to run through the setlist/show, and debut the band name/logo. It's a private affair (invite only) due to limited space. It's my debut as frontman/lead-singer/guitarist. It's also the first time my lead guitarist has stepped up to full time lead duties (normally acoustic and lead vocals for him). He's nervous, I'm not. Somehow, it just feels right being up on stage for me. So for me, the showcase is to make sure there are no hitches in our "get-a-long", and for my lead guitarist to deal with any jitters he may be feeling.

Were not breaking any new ground here: Most of the songs will be cover tunes, and throwing in a couple of originals. The whole crux of the situation is, were four members that wanna get out, play, and just have fun! Were also four Christians, but this aint a Christian band. I'm just explaining that dynamic, and it is not intended to cause any religious discussion, so lets not go there, ok? We just dont want to limit ourselves to just playing at a church. We wanna play at bars, open mic's, county fairs, off-road events, you name it!

Were not looking for the recording contract, or "hittin the big time". We just wanna play music that puts grins on our faces, and hopefully to those that are in attendance.

Our plans are, to video tape the showcase, post it em up on youtube, and get out and play!

We might do some live recordings. We dont have any plans to go in the studio.

I'm in the process of copyrighting the bands logo.

Been there.....I'll wish you well on your quest.

As I recall....we play the music for free and charge for all the equipment hauling.<grin>

Good luck at the 'showcase'.

Carry on....

Best of luck to ya. I wish i could find another band around me that has that mind set, I'm just in it for a good time not making a career out of it. Finding a group with that mentaility isn't easy.

I thought it wasnt gonna take off at all!

I had tried for years, but it was either the guys that wanted to live on ramen noodles, and live in a van (dont bring up things like wives, kids and such silly stuff), or guys that just want to jam occasionally but never play out (huh?).

Then it just worked out for me, the bassist and the lead guitarist. We ran an add in craigslist for a drummer, and in two weeks Jon sent me an email hoping we hadnt filled the position!

We've all got families, and we all got good jobs, and were not looking to make it. Just have fun! Thats it. And we all get along great!

Yeah, I feel lucky. Heck, Blessed!
