Finally pics of my 1987 MIJ Squire. I saved the original electronics but put in new pots, cap and Lindy Fralin Vintage Hot pups that I had lying around. The other strat is my 1995 Strat Plus Deluxe which has 28 year old Duncan SSL-1's and a Duncan Broadcaster which has the Tele angle in the bridge. Swimming pool rout allows this easily. The Squire plays better than the Strat Plus Deluxe which is no slouch. The Broadcaster in the bridge definitely does sound like a tele. The Fralin bridge pup has the baseplate but still sounds like a strat. The Fralins are glassier than the Duncans but the Duncans sound fuller but with less glass. Both are great just different. The Plus Deluxe has the Fender Licensed Floyd Rose bridge and Locking Tuners, the Squire has the Series One bridge and locking device above the nut.

Nice guitars! Oddly enough,I have an 80's E Series strat, with Fralins, but the 50's style maple neck. And yes,I have never played a better maple neck on any Fender.I also have an 87 strat plus in red,but stock with lace p ups.Enjoy!

I kept the original Lace pups. They were Blue, Silver, and Red. Never sounded like a Strat though. I did run for awhile two Silvers with a Blue in the Bridge. It worked but no jangle or glass like a vintage type pickup. This Squire has a 12" radius and the Plus a 9&1/2" radius. Guitars are fun
