Oh, to have been there...

And it's amazing how he gets that classic rockabilly sound out of a Peavey solidbody, dont'cha think?

WHOOPS! TNX Fezz.

It's a T27 model. Peavey's take on a Strat-style. Still very affordable 'round $200-$300.

Gotta be some slab back echo going on the guitar

When the show starts, sounds like Carl's voice has slap back.

Sort like the ol' Sun Studio sound.

Interesting that Peavey has a Patent for a bi-laminate neck; See the T27 Manual pdf (www.peavey.com/media/pdf/manuals/80370333.pdf)

Bi-Lam[tm] was a feature of the G&Ls under Leo.
My old product sheets show Bi-Lam as Patent Applied For.

Thanks for posting. It made for a nice Friday evening. A lot of talent on display there. Very inspiring.

I saw this as a teenager when it aired and taped it... I mean I ran a cable from the headphone socket on the TV to a cassette deck and got an audio recording. (We didn't even have a VCR back then.)

I treasured that cassette for years and then a few years ago they brought out the DVD of the show. It's just a wonderful thing, with George, Ringo, Eric and Carl and those other guys and gals having so much fun.

I taped that programme off Channel 4 way back in 1985 when it was first broadcast. Played the VHS to death and eventually found the DVD of it a few years ago. Still one of my favourite DVD's to watch and be inspired by.

I've got it on VHS as well. So much talent on that stage!
