Will a 000 guitar fit in a classical case?

I am after a nice snug case for me 000 acoustic. Just a soft case, but something that doesnt look like a big half empty hiking bag.

All the acoustic cases I come across seem to be even larger than what would fit a dreadnought well, it seems they make them all Jumbo compatible!

I was thinking of trying a classical case, but there is no local shops to try one out.

Probably not, but this will:

I have one that my Silver Creek T-170 and Blueridge BR-343 fit into perfectly, like it was made for them (well, it was). Of course, some guitars vary a bit, so check the specs. My two fit in very snugly.

Oops! You were looking for a soft case. No suggestions on that.

Though I do have a Golden Gate classical bag that my Blueridge OOO fits into, but it's a bit too short for the T-170 (which has a bigger headstock). You really need to try yours out in the bag, or post what brand/model guitar you have, and find someone who has that same guitar, and a bag that fits.

I've got a classical guitar that won't even fit in a classical case. Go figure...

I have an SKB 000 Hard Case for my Recording King RO-127, fits it like a glove...

I know you were asking about soft cases but I think you are correct, not a lot of options out there specifically for an 000 size guitar...

You may try going to the SKB site, they have pretty accurate inside dimensions of the above hard case. You may be able to use them to compare to cases you are interested in...

Those SKB cases are excellent, and great protection. The budget one I posted is pretty decent protection, and well-built, but not flight-worthy.

I recently got a tweed case for my Recording King RO-06. Nice case, but needed to tint/seal it. Really plush inside. Made by Saga/Golden Gate.

I've found don't buy a case unless you have it and your guitar in hand unless you want to pay shipping both ways when you return it. I've had them come in too big and too small.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys but I think you missed the point that I was looking for a soft case.

Call me a hippy but I travel by bicycle, so hard cases are not practical. I need a well designed soft case that wont put stress on the guitar while im riding.

Methinks you missed the point that they don't make gig bags for 000s and that you at least have to post the make/model of your guitar if you expect anyone to help you. They vary in size. Some will fit in a classical bag, some won't. I don't know of any soft cases made for OOO.

Done a bit of this myself. Soft cases the overall size of a classical will be fine but you might fall short on the total length. Do some measuring and check against various cases. Better yet if you can have guitar in hand and try a few in store. I tried my Tak in an SKB classical hard case, all the measurements were good, but the body shape was wrong so no go. I got an MBT soft case that fits it fine. It rattles a bit in the SKB dread.

I think you need to try them out because there are two body shapes for 000 guitars, depending on whether you are talking about a 12 fret or 14 fret guitar. The 14 fret model, like the Eric Clapton 000-28 is a smaller body and would fit in a different case than a 12 fret Martin 00028. The 12 fret model has longer body and I don't think will fit in the same case as the 14 fret unless it it oversize, but I cannot say definitively.

Overall length, not counting the strap button, will probably be OK since most classicals have a much longer headstock than a steel-string. The body size is what gets you.

That is true. I've tried them.

THanks for the suggestion, tried ordering it but MF tried to charge me $50 shipping. That is somewhat excessive I think, even if its international. If it was something heavy and fragile like a guitar I could understand.

It seems US residents get free shipping?

Would anyone be willing to send one along to me?

I think the problem is they use a box that's 30" X 30" X 4" for a bag that would probably fold up into a shoebox if they tried it.

Why dont you contact MF and see if they can do anything for you?

Problem is the Classical guitars are quite variable in size. You/we really need its width and depth to compare it to the various concert/parlour type 0/00/000 sizes for the cases.

My own Concert Classic is almost the dimensions of a dreadnought.
