I learned a new word: Wraparound

"the ability of a guitar to wrap its sound back around you, as opposed to projecting it forward to the microphone or audience" (from the Acoustic Guitar Guide by Larry Sandberg)

I was at the local GC at 5pm on Friday and the place was all but deserted and I had the acoustic room all to myself, so I got to sample just about everything in there. One smaller Taylor that really spoke to me had this wraparound quality to it and it was a wonderful experience. I just knew it was something special but couldn't put my finger on it until later when I read the above quote and it was like "YES!" :!:

It was the kind of guitar you could just lock yourself in a room with and play for hours or days, write songs with, and get in touch with your inner C.F. Martin. It was a very personal, intimate experience.
