Being a musician is one thing.... being a player and singer is another thing and being a charismatic one is another! Some people are really gifted, like the youtube teenager I linked to the other day... makes me think/scream "omg, why do i bother?"

edit: i lost the thread but found that video: Eli Bentley

It sounds to me like you want to master music. That's a long, straight train track, where you can see the point at the end, but you never reach it.

I've heard your clips, tjalla. You're on the track, no question about it, and highballin', too. Just keep chuggin'.

Take your choice of these: :razz::neutral::grin::wink::twisted::oops:

tjalla,
I bet if you ask any reasonable artist that any of us would say have MASTERED their instrument they would say that they are not where they want to be yet....
I think we all get to a point where we are happy learning a new song or a new technique but we are far from content with our playing

The whole point for me is learning.... I really don't get sick of learning new stuff and some stuff takes me years to get right.. I think if you are questioning yourself and saying you want to get better that is the track to be on..

After 30 years I've gotten to be a decent guitar player, but I have a long ways to go to be a good musician.

At first nobody took me seriously.

Then a friend taught me how to do a guitar face.

I studied and tried to master each of these faces: Guitarfaces (http://www.gibson.com/en-us/Lifestyle/Features/Guitarface/)

Now I am considered a true musician.

Get lessons in theory and composition. Get a band and/or jam mates. Learn some alternate instruments. Play your heart out. Hire yourself out.

If you're prepared to work hard (it's a long old slog), buy up some equipment and get started OP.

Ya sound good bro... as far as the guitar faces.. I get get people smiling with mine I guess I am quite animated and while I am doing the "faces" I think I am playing with a straight face.. I even had Dale Watson smiling pretty hard one night and the only reason I know is because my wife snapped photo..
