What would it take to mod my Dunlop red fuzz face to sound like the Dallas Arbiter fuzz face? Or is that more hassle than its worth?

convert fuzz face to arbiter specs?tacomamc January 21st, 2012, 07:19 PM What would it take to mod my Dunlop red fuzz face to sound like the Dallas Arbiter fuzz face? Or is that more hassle than its worth? bigp7099 January 22nd, 2012, 08:28 AM I'm not a fuzz expert, don't even like them, and one might be along to give you a better answer but I'll take a stab at it. Fuzzes are pretty simple circuits from what I have seen and can be very component dependent from what I have heard. I think your biggest hurdke will be how the duncan pedal is made and the ease of modding it depending on what you have to do. If you google your question you will probably find some specific answers and possibly step by step instructions. I'm going to guess though that it wouldn't be much harder to just build an arbiter from scratch and then you would have both. tacomamc January 22nd, 2012, 11:12 AM Thanks, and I think you're right. I saw a video on youtube and jumped the gun without thinking through it. I have been toying with building another fuzz face anyway... I need to look at what's in the Dallas arbiter...thanks again. bigp7099 January 22nd, 2012, 01:16 PM Tonepad and madbean have a bunch of projects and fuzzcentral has a good history with schematics tacomamc January 22nd, 2012, 06:36 PM Excellent...thanks for the references... |
