I recently picked up an asat classic to put a hipshot bender on and just as im about to drill the bridge and install it i get an offer to swap for an asat classic with the pre-drilled bridge. They're both beautiful guitars and i cant decide what to do. Does anyone out there know the differences between these guitars and which is more suited to the b-bender. Is it worth drilling the bridge on the classic?

I guess the difference would be the hole in the bridge.
You know G&L makes a Will Ray model that comes with the hipshot installed.

Yeah the hole in the bridge is why i considered swapping, so i wouldnt have to drill. I saw that will ray model and its a stunner but i already have a commanche with those z-coils (which sound incredible and clean as a whistle) so i dont want my no1 and no2 guitars to sound too similar! I decided to pass on the offer so I better close this thread. Thanks anyway!

The classic is the easier drill job probably. The Saddle-lock bridge on Z-3's & ASAT Specials is trickier to drill. The Hipshot will sound great on either one.

Thanks, good to hear it from the man himself!
