About eight months ago, while in the middle of a particularly bad case of Brad Paisely hero worship I decided to build an copy of Brad's crook guitars.
I found the specs for the neck along with pickup info ect here on TPRI in an old post and got the bridge and saddle info straight from Charlie McVay. He even had an extra set of goodies in his shop that he uses on Brad's guitars and he hooked me up.
The body was the last ever custom job by Tony Delacugo. Sadly he can no longer paint due to his health so I got lucky when I snagged this body.
So, how does it play!?
This is by far the best playing and sounding parts caster I have cobbled together to date. The neck is thicker than I normally use but it is so comfy it became my new favorite within 10min of playing on it.
Hey, what about the bender?
Smooth action and you can adjust the pull tension with a screw on the back.
The guitar sits at a slightly different angle than a parsons white style bender due to the strap attaching down by the neck plate. I played gibsons for years and it hangs like that on the body.
To bad my phone cam can't get a better pic of the body. Sparkle jobs are so hard to photograph.
It took me forever to get it put together but finally its done.
