This week I have been listening to "Ready, Set, Shango!" , which I bought when it came out, flipped over it, then forgot.
What is he using to get that great organ sound? Does anyone know a pedal/amp that will nail it?

At one time, I know he used the Korg G4, which, unfortunately, has long since been discontinued. (I have one and I love it dearly.) From all I've read about Charlie, the G4 and the Rotosphere are the only rotating speaker simulators that he has ever used, and it's no coincidence that both pedals are generally regarded as the best sounding rotating speaker simulators ever made.

Thanks for info and especially for the link. Can you believe I never knew that he played bass and guitar on one instrument? That explains a lot. I just figured he had a special groove lock with the bass player. I think I actually liked him better when I didn't know the reason it sounded like two guys playing simple, quirky stuff in perfect synchronization. It will probably just take a little time to digest the information.
Glad to find that that sound is a current production pedal. I half expected to learn that it was some ultra-exotic leslie variant. From the videos on his site, it looks like the unique tone comes from his custom instrument and especially the technique required to play it.
