Capacitor voltage

I ran into a small question I'd like to check with you guys. I'm building a pedal circuit which includes a 100uf capacitor in the main circuit to ground. Right now I included a 100v capacitor and the pedal output seems to be a bit weak. Could using a 16v capacitor instead change this, or does the voltage not matter in this way?

No.

The rated voltage is just the maximum that the cap can handle. I like to use a cap rated to about 50% higher than what it needs. The only drawback is size.

Clear. Thanks!
