Hope everyone is easing back in the saddle at work after a great New Year!
PineBomb January 3rd, 2012, 09:12 AM In your living room? One your wife would like? So long as it's just passing through your living room, I imagine she'd like to see it on the back of one of these:

Atlas Stands January 3rd, 2012, 09:21 AM Ha!, yes that's often considered a logical option by our significant others for where to keep gear. Also a good place for the guitars that lean up in the corners.

+100. LOL
frankg11 January 3rd, 2012, 08:23 PM I asked my wife what I could leave up in the family room. She said it had to match the decor. So I took her out guitar shopping. I had selected about 3 guitars and amps I liked. She could choose any combo. Btw I was just starting to learn to play. Her choice...
A flame maple blue-green Washburn USA made custom idol and a Vox adt15vt in black. Oh and a cherry stained maple stand for the amp and guitar.
Much more $$$$ than I would have spent be awesome.
The moral of this story is the get your significant other's buy in and it will turn out better in the long run. And I am gassing for one of these atlas stands bad!!!
Larry F January 3rd, 2012, 08:40 PM I have to hand it to you, those are some really, really nice looking amp stands. They're the perfect combination of natural-looking and over-the-top.
Atlas Stands January 3rd, 2012, 08:43 PM Maple is cool, I had the chance to build about 4 maple amp stands last year, not nearly as many as the Black Walnut and Black Cherry.
Keeping the spouse happy with gear all over the place is definitely easier if it doesn't look like it belongs in a fitness gym...
here's my favorite maple from last year...built to match the sweet Fender amp shown below:)

PineBomb January 3rd, 2012, 08:58 PM Seriously though, nice amp stands. And you know that Vibrolux cab is going to garner cat calls. A beauty. Use coasters on that--no bare bottles for crying out loud.
Atlas Stands January 3rd, 2012, 09:04 PM Thanks, I do it all by hand to custom fit individual needs. The design possibilities are only limited by imagination. The whole process is very gratifying because it requires teamwork between myself and the owners.
maybe one day I'll get my stuff on the Antiques Road Show...lol
adjason January 3rd, 2012, 09:15 PM Those are nice-well done
Atlas Stands January 3rd, 2012, 09:36 PM Very grateful y'all, Thanks for the support!
It used to take me forever to get an amp stand finished when I first started. Now that I have the process worked out I've shaved the build times down by 80% and can get them built for a lot less than I first thought possible.
Currently I am working on a "road case" inspired amp stands to match a DSL401 for a guy in Australia. It will be the first painted amp stand I'll ever build, and have a mic boom attachment on it as well.

Atlas Stands January 14th, 2012, 08:25 PM lol...I've used them before but not nearly as stable as the need to be:)

There should be a built in leather coaster, colored to match the handle. Slightly recessed so that the top of the coaster sits level with the top of the cagbinet.
