Don't think you've heard this one before, I can't remember posting it in here anyway. I've been working on this one on and off for about 6 months. This one got quite complicated.... it's got cellos, flute, harmonium, analog Moog and organ piccolo... not to mention 12 string acoustic, 6 string acoustic, bass & drums. This project has about 40 active tracks. So I got to mixing it today with the new drums tracks recorded in my studio from last week.
See if you think we did this one any justice.

Im fairly blunt about things. There's only 2 kinds of music far as I see it, stuff you can stand to listen too and stuff you can't. I can always listen to your music as I am very new and very interested in home recording these days. So I always expect to be interested in what you do. Keep doing it as I am learning what to shoot for when I get to post something up one day. Thanks.........

Good start, but sounds to me like the center-to-right side of the pan field is a crowded house, with lots of instruments competing for space, while the left side has wide-open spaces. As the mix develops, I imagine you'll be carving out frequency bands for the instruments and spreading things out. Lots going on in the lower mids that impedes clarity. But all that can be managed; the tracks themselves sound pretty good.

Hello woodman!
Thanks again for your valuable feedback. I EQ'ed the cellos but left them at 40% Right. The guitars have always been between 30% and 40% Left but I changed it to 35%-40% now. I also move the Flute to the left and the Piccolo. I also panned a bit more of the drum kit to the left now too and the analog Moog synthsizer. I also heard some little timing issues in the bridge that I also cleared up.
I listened to it and I definitely hear the guitars mid way between center and the left speaker. Same is true for the cellos but midway on the right. The vocals, drums and Moog all happen between those points. The handclaps and piccolo are harder to the left. See what you think now.

Yeah, the cellos take up a lot of space. Now that they're separated, it sounds like the upper mid resonances on the cellos are sucking on the guitars. Real cellos top out at a little under 1K ... the sweet spot's about 4-8K. If you rolled it off at ~1K, the guitars would have some breathing room.

I'm always a bit hesitant to do a upper shelf just above the fundamentals because the timbre of an instrument is partially dependent on preserving the upper harmonics. Having just said that, I'll toy around with it again tomorrow.

Not so much a shelf as a ramping down ... enough to give the guitars a fighting chance. Those cellos have a lot of upper mid content so your harmonics are probably safe.
