I am toying with the idea of getting a set of these, so that my Baja can keep up with my HWY1 strat. Anyone tried them?

Anyone tried BK `s Piledriver PUP`s?PeterVV January 1st, 2012, 01:27 PM I am toying with the idea of getting a set of these, so that my Baja can keep up with my HWY1 strat. Anyone tried them? PeterVV January 4th, 2012, 01:20 PM No-one????????? e-merlin January 4th, 2012, 06:49 PM Here in the USA, BK is Burger King. Wish I could help you further. Batman January 4th, 2012, 06:54 PM He means Bare Knuckle, they make some mighty good pickups here in the UK. I've not tried them myself, but they have a good reputation. I think you may find this thread enlightening, Peter: http://www.tdpri.com/forum/just-pickups/199276-bare-knuckle-piledrivers.html e-merlin January 4th, 2012, 07:02 PM OK, in that case, I've never heard anything bad about them... Never tried them, though, as I've already got my favorites. Guitarmadcat January 6th, 2012, 02:26 PM YESSS!!! Got a set in one of my Teles. Turned it into a rock machine - in the best possible way. Plenty of grunt and grind a la P90 but roll back the vol and there's yer trad Tele tones. Very highly recommended! flyingbanana January 6th, 2012, 11:50 PM They sound good, but D Allen pickups sound better, are cheaper and you can get them right here in the USofA. What do you think? I'm curious about making an Esquire with the Piledriver bridge. Ben Harmless January 23rd, 2012, 04:53 PM Wish I had caught this the first time through. I play what is essentially an Esquire with a Piledriver in the bridge. I've been through at least six or seven other "hottish" pickups, and this one is the closest to the sound in my head by far. Hell, it's the only one I've kept in the guitar for this long. The thing pushes my Marshall like a P-90 or a humbucker would, but still has a good amount of single-coil bite to it. Even at high gain, I can roll the volume back an get a really nice, semi-twangy sound too. This is something I didn't actually expect based on most of the other pickups I've tried. The only thing I wish for is a little more lower midrange roundness. The pickup isn't scooped by any means, but I'd take some more. If I could get it. My favorite aspect is that the low end is nice and tight, unlike several other pickups that are now hanging on a cork board on my wall. I give it my endorsement. For reference, the Piledriver is: -Way less harsh than my HD Super90 -Tighter and more robust than my Don Mare 0038 -Warmer than my DiMarzio Virtual Hot T -Massively clearer than my Duncan Quarter Pounder -Badder than the other 3 or 4 various stock pickups I've tried.
