Creating a backing track

I dunno If this is posted before but really..I'm new to this, so pardon me for being a noob.

What software program do you suggest in which you can create a custom backing track for instrumental guitar (think satriani, gilbert, petrucci, shawn lane, govan etc )? I'm thinking of creating rhythm, bass, drum lines which is also easy to use at any situation and has a good/high quality studio sound.

I need it to be computer friendly, meaning it doesn't gobble up a lot of memory/RAM.

I have a guitar rig 4 installed in my laptop (sony vaio..an old one VGN series). I dont have the rig controller. I just plug in the guitar straight to the mic input.

Thanks :)

I like a program called Jammer the best. I find it easiest to use. I got it free with an old version of Cakewalk I bought. Easy to pop in drum fills. Lots of styles.

I Like Reaper for recording tracks if that's what you mean.

Audacity Is also a pretty good free one.

I use Sibelius for making my own backing tracks if you're into writing it in. It has great playback sound but it IS a memory hog AND costly. Top notch though for writing music.
