True Bypass Looper Circuit

Circuit A is from the Beavis Audio site.

Circuit B is my layman's way of doing the circuit. It seems more straightforward to me.

Is there any reason A is preferable over B?

All I can see is that three contacts are made/broken in A and four contacts are made/broken in B. Is that an issue in a simple passive circuit like this?

Simpler is always better! Maybe "A" limits the dreaded pop when switching. Never hooked up a totally passive circuit before, tough.

Looks the same to me.

Maybe the bottom left terminal is removed as it could be an extra point for circuit failure. I've had a few stop working, mainly due to excessive soldering/desoldering.
