oramac7891 December 23rd, 2011, 10:50 PM Cool pair
Bulldog87 December 24th, 2011, 12:11 AM I'm excited as heck with them. I love some of the new epiphones that have come out... I've always been an SG guy at heart... I love the P90's! This is my first guitar with them... man to they scream.
dragonfly66 December 24th, 2011, 01:14 AM Congrats on the guitars! Yeah P90s are awesome! Gotta love the Jr version. NICE!!
DrumBob December 24th, 2011, 07:31 AM I like those Epi SG Specials. I played a red one at GC that I almost walked out with. Those bolt-neck Juniors look like good slide guitars.
Pointmonger December 24th, 2011, 07:38 AM And a very merry Christmas to you, sir!
jvanoort December 24th, 2011, 07:50 AM Wow, congrats, they look great! How's the neck balance on those?
timmytVA December 24th, 2011, 07:52 AM Super cool DNGD! Is the headstock really that much bigger on the P90 SG?
How do they sound? How do they compare?
Tim
Delta Blues December 24th, 2011, 08:03 AM Far out. I've never seen those colors or models before.
Blazer December 24th, 2011, 08:05 AM All that junior SG needs to complete the picture would be the fitting of a P-94.

Matthias December 24th, 2011, 10:28 AM Congrats! That special looks amazing!
Bulldog87 December 24th, 2011, 11:01 AM All that junior SG needs to complete the picture would be the fitting of a P-94.
That is a far out idea! Once the tinkering bug hits me that may have to happen!!!
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!
Bulldog87 December 24th, 2011, 11:03 AM I like those Epi SG Specials. I played a red one at GC that I almost walked out with. Those bolt-neck Juniors look like good slide guitars.
DrumBob... I had the same exact experience.... I went in to play around and found a red one on the shelf... i sat there and played for a while and had to tell myself... "NO! It is almost Christmas! Be Good! Besides they make it in TV YELLOW..." I'm glad I held out!
Jvanoot: The balance is pretty good. I don't let it bother me too much. One of my first guitars was an Epi SG special w/ a really neck heavy build. These are better.
Bulldog87 December 24th, 2011, 11:08 AM Super cool DNGD! Is the headstock really that much bigger on the P90 SG?

Tim:
The headstock is NOT really any bigger than the junior. It is an optical illusion. I held the Special closer to the camera. I was trying to play around with the camera and get the Special in focus and the Junior slightly out of focus. So no, they are both the same size. And I actually think they are smaller than most of the headstocks i've seen on older epiphones (could be just my imagination there though)
Both of these babys sound amazing. I put the Special (P90) through a bunch of different settings and it sounds sweet, crunchy, and will wail if you let it! The neck is definitely a thin thickness (as compared to some huge D necks) and a wider fretboard. It plays very very smoothly.
The Junior has a nice neck and the pickup sounds great. Sweet sounds come out of this thing. I am still learning how to play with the tone to shape the sounds I want! I definitely like the simplicity though!
I'm in love with both right now. I think I may have to refer to them as Mistress 1 and Mistress 2!
studio1087 December 24th, 2011, 11:51 AM Congratulations!
You sir....have impeccable taste in sexy guitars.

Indeed you do!
I put D'Addario 10's on mine last night. It's more snappy. It's snappier. Snappification!
That's a beautiful pair that you have there. I love the history behind TV Yellow.
Bulldog87 December 24th, 2011, 12:02 PM Congratulations!
