What can I make from a DOD Flanger 747?

I have this pedal, and it works, but i want to make a "silly Face" fuss pedal. I am going to take the jacks from the Dod and, maybe even the foot switch as well. (I also have a two button Peavey footswitch I can pull from). I have never built a pedal before... it is possible to reuse the capacitors and resisters from this pedal, or am I more likely to damage them during removal?

If you have any other suggestions on what to build from the Dod Flanger, let me know... I'd love a reverb or delay, but I think that might be a bit ambitious as a fist pedal build.

Here is a gut shot from my pedal, a factory pic of the pedal, and the silly face I'd like to build.

One of these DOD Flanders sold recently for $45 on feebay. Personally I think it would be wiser to sell it, buy new components and enclosure( with money left over). Removing old components can be a bit laborious and often results in over heating and ruining the components.

I've tried pulling parts from junked electronics. It's next to impossible to reuse them due to the short leads. On occasion you can pull one with decent length leads, but you'll need to test them on a dmm to make sure they didn't get fried by your iron. Better off just buying them.

Yeah, I kind of thought that could be the case.... Thanks
