Gibson J-185 - which pickup/preamp is in it? [Archive]

HI folks,

as I am reasearching this guitar I find different information about the pickup system.

gibson website says it is a fishman aura pro mounted in the upper rim.

Vendor's information differs between aura ellipse (controls in the soundhole) and shadow pickup and preamp.
If I'd order it, what would I get?

What do you think about this guitar and it's pickup anyway?
If it is the aura, that's a digital system - does it work as advertised?

It depends on the year. Gibson has used several different units over the years. You have to know the exact year, to determine the type of unit that was used.
