Geoff738 December 20th, 2011, 08:20 PM The bit at the very top (down to the donation and ebay thingies) loads fine. The rest of the page takes eons to load. I'm not talking a few seconds - more like a couple minutes and often more.
FWIW I'm on an imac, and nothing else that I go to on the innerwebs is doing it.
Anybody else having this problem?
It was like this yesterday here as well. If I get a chance I'll dust off the PC and see if it's the same on that.
Cheers,
Geoff
tele12 December 20th, 2011, 09:57 PM I had the same problem I just assumed it was my ISP.
getbent December 20th, 2011, 09:59 PM if you are using safari, it may be time to reset it.... typically you have a cookie or some other preference that is hosed... that will cause it...

Sadly, no change. Same on my PC too.
Took me over half an hour just to get this page open to type this.
Whatever's happening ... is still happening.

Geoff

reset your router, you have eliminated (it seems the two workstations) sometimes resetting wireless and your router (both if possible!) fixes it
TDPRI December 21st, 2011, 03:20 PM I hate to tell you this... but others are not experiencing this issue. You're in Toronto and the server is in Montreal. Boom. You've got a direct connection.
I'm in Texas 2000 miles away. I have near instantaneous page loads even with probably 15 more hops on the internet.
TDPRI December 21st, 2011, 03:24 PM I'm gong to go with Randy. Something on your network -- your dns servers, your router. Something on your end.

Certainly possible, but this is the only site I'm having this happen to, of dozens that I've looked at in the past couple days. I unplugged the modem and router for a few minutes and plugged 'em back in - no change.
Let me shut down the computer and start it back up again. Although I did that on the other one and no change.
Will let you know if I do get the site running as it should from here.
Cheers,
Geoff
1955 December 21st, 2011, 04:19 PM After you unplug the router push a paper clip into the small hole and hold it there for about 15 secs to reset it. Also update your Adobe, Java, if you use it.
getbent December 21st, 2011, 07:41 PM because the tele isn't about nationalism... it is about thrift and elegance and simple and work and good and function and grace....
which is found all over the world... our membership is a testament to that both in their appreciation of the guitar and their own values which mirror that of the tele!
Jeff, not trying to be a pest, but, when you reset Safari, did you just relaunch it or did you do a full 'reset'?
Another thought would be for you to log out of TDPRI, clear cache, reset Safari, quit it, launch it again and login...
that might also fix it.

Full reset my friend.
question. The very top of the page comes in lickety split. All the stuff below the ebay and donation line though - ugh! Does that tell us anything? Still seems very weird to me that this is the only place I frequent that is doing this. But, me and computers have this sometimes fraught relationship.
Will try the logout thing next.
Cheers,
Geoff
Geoff738 December 24th, 2011, 04:09 PM Well, never could get it working at home.
All is fine at my folks though.
Anybody else in the GTA on Rogers having problems?
And, merry Christmas to all.
Cheers,
Geoff
TDPRI December 24th, 2011, 06:26 PM Merry Christmas to you Geoff. Hope you figure out what the issue is at your house.
Geoff738 December 29th, 2011, 03:18 PM Well,
Get back home after three or four days away and - everything's back to normal with my ability to access TDPRI.
Which wasn't the case before I left.
No further changes on this end.
So, I don't really know why it's back up and running as per usual - just glad it is!
Cheers,
Geoff
