Hey everyone, I've been a reader of these forums for a while, thought I'd jump in and post a demo my band had just recorded.

We're based in Sydney, Australia.

Enjoy!

Well done, my man. I like it. I like how the video is synched up to the rhythm and the overall mood of the tune. And welcome to the board!

Thanks for the comments String Tree and jimdandy.

So how does everyone around here go about promoting their stuff?

In Australia there's a govt run radio station (JJJ) which has a website (JJJ unearthed) and a digital radio station dedicated solely for unsigned bands. A lot of bands have come through that here.

Obviously gigging and word of mouth are the other obvious ways.... And actually making good music ;)

What works for everyone else?

I didn't know that Stevie Nicks is now singing down under with another band

I think your singer has a lovely voice, just very clear and unforced. I agree with the Stevie Nicks comparison. For some reason, this reminds me a bit of 'The End' (The Doors). The song is nifty, some cool, unorthodox (to my ears) note choices in the guitar leads. If it were my song, I'd probably edit it for length, focusing more on the vocalist. As cool as the guitar parts are, they're a bit too long imho - my attention started drifiting during the long instrumental excursions - but the vocal line really commanded my attention (and I'm a guitar player). The vocalist really makes this song for me, I'd rather hear more of her.

Overall, though, very good - I'd love to hear more.
