No signal when bypassed.....help!

So, I bought a used pedal, and it sounds great when its on. The problem is how it sounds bypassed. It doesnt sound, at all..... No signal. Id like to keep the pedal, because its great sounding. Just need to get that pesky bypass thing working.

Help!?!?

It would help if you could tell us what pedal it is and what kind of switch is in it. Some pictures of the switch and wiring would be good too.

Either the switch is broken or something has happened to the wiring to the switch.(I shouldn´t be too cocksure.Once went into a Guyatone Overdrive which has electronic switching.One capacitor had gone bad!). Still got it.

I had the same problem with my first DIY pedal , a big muff, I found that I had solder the ground wire of the output or iput jack , don't remember , to hot position and vise versa …..
