The cheaper of the two Line 6 digital wireless works great for me. I think it's called G30.

The G30 is one of the best additions that I've made to my rig!!!

The G30 is one of the best additions that I've made to my rig!!!

I was using a G30 in rehearsals, and twice it just completely cut out on me. Now it's sitting on my dresser.

I've found that the G50 Line 6, which has a metal-encased transmitter unit, is pretty much bulletproof, doesn't sound any different than a cable, has a long transmitter range (any room you'll ever be in) and batteries last about 5 playing hours (two AAs). The G30 Line 6 has equal sonic quality, though a little less adjustability, has a shorter range, though still enough for any normal club or stage, but has a plastic-encased transmitter unit that works just fine but seems a little fragile compared to the G50. I'm very sensitive to the sonic effect of lots of little, subtle things, and the Line 6 wireless stuff is fully transparent. I highly recommend either the G50 or the G30, but the G50 will be sturdier.

I wrote a response and it vanished!
To be brief, I've had them cheap and expensive and they all let me down.
X5 digital (now Line6) has a pedal size receiver and a rack model. Both of them had drop outs at a short distance.
I've had Nady and Samson Airline and each was disappointing. In a gig you can't have any dropouts, particularly at a short distance.
I use one at the practice spot from time to time but for a gig I use the guitar cord.

I have an X2 (basically the Line-6 G30 before Line-6 bought the company). It's a pedal-sized receiver, and I use it at every gig. I routinely walk out into the crowd with it and it simply does not drop out and sounds great.

The key is that I use a rechargeable 9-volt, and pop in a freshly-charged one at the start of every gig.

I have been using a Shure UT14 for about 5 years. Never had a problem with it.
Right now I have a couple of extra units in the studio that were purchased for additional rigs but never used. If you're interested in one send me a PM. They've updated the unit to a new model number but the new ones are basically the same as the UT14s.
