Red X

Tried to search for an answer to this but found nothing. Maybe the words are too short. It's not really an issue or a problem, almost ashamed to even ask but curiosity has gotten the better of me. When I sign in too TDPRI there is a small red X above my log in, kind of like the ones that sometimes pop up where a picture should be that didn't load properly. What the heck is this thing?

Sounds like a missing image. Can you take a screen shot to show me what you mean? I don't know where "above the log in" is exactly.

And yes, the search engine here would never be able to find "red" or "x" Or "red x" all of which are too short.

Oh.... I'm not sure I know how to take a screen shot.

OK, then please try to explain EXACTLY where you see the red X on the page. Help me find it since I don't see it.

OK, think I just sent the screen shot. It went some where anyway. Like I said, not a huge issue or problem just been there a while and curious what it is. I wonder if it is an indication there is something wrong in my system.

Wanted to make sure before I said anything but this is a different computer and a different internet provider and the Red X is still there. Don't know what to make of it.

Yes that is exactly where I'm talking about. It isn't really a problem, no ill effects, probably isn't worth pursuing. Just my unbridled curiosity. Thanks, anyway.

Ok, on the HOME page. I thought you meant on the Forum home page. Most folks log in on the forum home page not the website home page.

Yes, that's why you see the red X. And because you are on Internet Explorer. FireFox doesn't show missing graphics like that.

I will see if there is anything I can do to make it not show a red x when the member doesn't have an avatar. That part of the home page is a custom mod job and not the most compliant with our usual standards.

Thanks again to all, it was a learning experience. I stay logged on, but when I bring up the TDPRI it goes to that page first and I go to the forums from there.
