Hi guys i wonder if you could share some of your knowledge on pickups. I currently have a fender tex mex tel, the ones with the three pickups instead of two.

I run this guitar through one of those vox ac4 tv (10" speaker) this amp breaks up nicely. i also use a behringer blues overdrive pedal which I like. Im sure its not the best but overall i like the sound.

The only thing which i dont like which i would like some advice on is that the pickups on this guitar dont seem very powerful when I play up the neck.

I have installed a seymore duncan mini humbucker in the bridge position, this is ok but is there anythin which will give me more power.

I love the sound of the neck pickup but its just not got enough umph!!! if you know what I mean. any suggestions on pickups to try would be very welcome. Thankyou.

Try raising the height.

A Telecaster will not have the output of a Les Paul or other humbucker equipped guitar.
A common solution for this is to turn up the amp, get an amp with more gain, or use an overdrive pedal.
The regular attempts to make a Tele sound like an Ibanez metal guitar seems odd to me, but still, many go that route.
(Stock/ vintage type) Teles and Strats need more amp gain than humbucker equipped guitars to distort and sustain, I bought an ac4 and returned it because I had the same feeling you have about lacking power and sustain up the neck with my Teles (among other things).
Why you still find this problem with the mini humbucker, hmmm...
I'd go with chippertheripper and try raising the pickup.

With the high E string held down on the highest fret, try raising that side of the pickup to a nickel or a dimes thickness from the string. You'll need to set the low E side of the pickup a bit further from the low E to balance the string volumes.
That's just a starting point, keep playing and adjusting from there...

You might also try playing through some other amps and see if you like something else better, the sound you hear in your head could take years to find...

For me personally, adding a 500k volume pot gave my pups some added kick and contrast that I really like.
