Ordered a Pedaltrain Jr. today...

So I've been going back and forth between a Pedaltrain Jr. and a PT-2. (Would have gone with the PT-1 that's right n the middle, but for some reason it only comes with a crappy hard case, and I wanted the soft case). I can get what I currently use onto a Jr. no problem, but just wondering what I can do if I ever end up adding more. Also toying with the idea of adding a volume pedal, but can alway put that off to the side off the board as a stand alone.

The reason I didn't go with the PT-2 is because I sort of like to keep things on the smaller side. I would have a ton of extra space on the PT-2, and think it would look silly, plus the idea of lugging it around deterred me a bit as well. I approached it the same way I approach backpacking; I force myself to use a tiny backpack so I can't carry any extra crap, and once did a 300 mile hike with 10lbs on my back (no joke) while others carried their 60-70lb packs!

Trying to keep the rig as small and portable as possible, and think this will work out well with the blues jr., making it a very versatile set up.

So here is what I plan on putting on the board:

I haven't decided on which boost pedal to keep on the board, the Amp50 or the Fulltone, but I am sort of leaning toward the Amp50 at this point (i recently scored them both off of CL, $65 for the Amp50 and $40 for the Fulltone, so I couldn't resist picking up both!), and may also ad a TS9 at some point, and that would take the space that the Fat Boost currently occupies. I think it's going to turn out really nice, and can cover a lot of different styles with this set up. Will be using a OneSpot for power.

I think a JR might work for you, but I wouldn't rule out looking at the PT-1 if want the extra space or not

this what they look like with velcro on it

i would have picked up a PT-1 if they didn't just offer it with the crappy hard case that apparently falls apart. i know that the PT-2 is only 2 inches wider than the PT-1, but the PT-2 is 7 inches wider than the PT-Jr., which is a big jump. Plus the Jr. was $84 on Amazon, while the PT-2 is $119.00, which is considerably more, and with Amazon there is no tax, but if ordered online through guitar center online even with their promotions i'd still have to pay tax. I figured I'd take my chance with the Jr. and see how it works out.

I have a PT Jr. I don't think you will be able to fit all of those pedals on it. Well, you may, but you'll need those solid, double ended plugs, I reckon.

I also have a Lovepedal Amp50. It's a sweet little pedal.

The PTjr fits more then you'd think if you're smart about placement & have small cable ends. Here's mine & I have BIG cable ends & some big pedals.

I love my PT-Jr. I have a PT-1, but like you, I don't like dragging around a big board (in a huge case) if I don't have to. Realistically, the PT-Jr has more than enough room for the pedals I need for 90% of my gigs. The Edge I ain't.

i made a template of the PT Jr. footprint out of paper and laid my pedals on top of it taking into consideration the spaces needed between pedals for connectors and they all fit just fine. I am making my own patch cable with right angle GLS 'pancake' style connectors and Lava mini ELC cable. Believe it or not with the pedals shown there is room for at least another pedal if I decide to add one.

i am loving the Amp50! I can dial it in to that magical spot where it adds just a touch of breakup that's perfect for me. I wouldn't call it clean anymore, but also would call it distorted if that makes any sense. It's like a dirty clean sound which is the sound I've been trying to get but had been unsuccessful in achieving with OD and distortion pedals. That pedal just wakes up my blues Jr. which already sounded good, but it's like a slap in the amps face or a kick in the arse!
