CubanTele November 2nd, 2011, 04:02 PM I got a "$25 off $99+" coupon in the mail for Guitar Center, and I figured it's a pretty good deal since I've been gassing for a pedal lately.
My current setup is:
Pitchblack > TS9 > DL4 > Amp
I was thinking maybe a compressor, but I'm sold on the Tone Press and Guitar Center doesn't sell them. Anyways, what would you get (from GC)? I'd like to keep it right at $100 (or a combination of things that equal 100).
Or maybe not get anything at all and ride out the gas?

Wow.. Is there even one decent pedal maker they DIDN'T exclude??
Guess there goes that idea lol. Thanks for helping me not look like a doofus in the store.
mitch_m November 2nd, 2011, 04:25 PM Guitar Center says that on every coupon they send out. However, I have yet to be denied any discount because an item was not eligible.

yup and if you have a problem with the coupon then ask for the manager.
I have used similar coupons and bought Fender,Gibson and Epi products with no problems........even online
artdecade November 2nd, 2011, 04:45 PM Thank you, boys! I just ordered up a new Visual Sounds Route 808. I was looking to get one soon and this was as good a time as any. 25 bucks off? Don't mind if I do!
PS - Visual Sounds is not on the list!
octa805 November 2nd, 2011, 05:06 PM if you try and use it online, you will be denied
if you call or go in-store you can probably fenagle it
PrimeA71 November 2nd, 2011, 05:31 PM Absolutely true, when buying my CVC, GC honored the coupon despite the manufacturer excluding themselves from the promotion. They were even going to honor the coupon as a layaway. In the end I took it out right then and there..... Not badmouthing BUT Samash "may" be a different story. Had a bad experience which drove me right to GC and in the end gave GC the sale. Couldn't of been more happy with theyre service.

Awesome! Glad you found yourself a good deal. :D
spayne99 November 2nd, 2011, 09:13 PM Thought about using it on an EHX Worm, but I'm not sold on the pedal since I already have a Cool Cat Tremolo and a Memory Boy that can do vibe and chorus. But the day ain't over yet!

Funny you say that because I found a price online that Guitar Center wouldn't match for an amp. I talked to a manager and everything. I left and went to Sam Ash and found the first salesman, showed him the price, and he said "Cash or Credit?". I paid and was out in minutes. I guess it depends on the specific store.

I'll sell you my worm
PrimeA71 November 3rd, 2011, 12:21 AM Yes Mitch, Im sure it all depends which location your at. Though this particular store has left me w/ a bad experience more than once. So much so that I try to avoid them despite theyre being just 10 minutes from me. By the way, doesn't GC claim to match the lowest price. Sorry to hear that even the manager wouldnt help you..... I dont mean to highjack this thread but I have to tell this story............................ I was dead set on this CVC so called GC and explained that theyre promotion excluded many vendors, Squier being one of them. The salesman said he was aware and would do the deal regardless even if it was on a layaway. They only had one but was willing to order a brand new one and send it to my door(free of charge). This is where the story should end but not wanting a 2/3 day wait, I call Samash who is running same promo. I explain to him that theyre offer excludes Squier as well and if they couldn't match or do better than I'll just go w/ GC. Dude says "well, come on up and I'll see what I cant do") with that tone in his voice like he's gonna make my day. When I get there the same cat on the phone acts like it was the first time he had heard of the promo! Then, he cant find they're only CVC! Well, its propped up next to a few other guitars at the front of the store with the jack cover, washer and nut laying on the ground next to it. Same exact spot it was in 2 weeks prior when I was there last. Again, with it's hardware laying next to it. So 2 of them fiddle with it for 10 minutes and while theyre screwing it back in I notice 2 good sized dings on the back of the body. I bring THAT to his attention as well and after inquire what kind of deal can they swing on the "literal floor model"? He dissapears for a good 15/20 minutes and finally shows up to answer the phone that's been ringing for 2 minutes. He now has a line 6 people deep waiting while he chats on the phone with the other "salesman" who just left and is wondering if he left his cellphone! He rings out the poor folks waiting who unfortunately came for some quick strings/picks etc.. and finally gets back to me. He says He's talked to the manager and the best they could do was a $28.00 discount!!! All this after explaining that GC was giving me over $50.00 off an out of the box model, not a dinged up,jack falling out model:mad:.......... Moral of the story is 2/3 business days arent bad for a brand new,15% off CVC tele.
mitch_m November 3rd, 2011, 12:37 AM Yes I was surprised when GC didn't match my price. I have a mix of good and bad with both GC and Sam Ash. It's really just about finding good sales people that listen and work with you
