Just putting the finishing touches on this one. It sounds sweet with a JJ 12AU7, and with a NOS 12AT7 it's quite loud. Great for giving a boost for lead tones, or getting that famous "woman tone".

I'm also working on a new clean boost pedal using an op-amp and single transistor.

No vid clips yet.

That is really nice. I have been wanting to build a tube overdrive but have been unable to find adequate information. Can you provide a schematic, parts list and some instructions?

Probably intended for 12VDC external? - what does it sound like with the 9V? How long does the battery last?

I've only used it on 9V external power so far, so I don't know about battery life yet, and I haven't done any calculations on battery life. My pedal board has a 9v supply. I will be getting a 12v wall wart soon to try it with that.

The interaction of the Gain-Tone-Volume provides lots of flexibility. Due to tube characteristics, gain somewhat affects tone, but not very much. The tone control is a standard high pass filter to ground. The Volume controls the output level of the pedal, and therefore the strength of the signal to the amp.

Upon first use, I ended used a JJ 12AU7 and ran the Gain at about 3 O'Clock and the Tone at about 11 O'Clock, and then set the volume at 30"Clock or so, which was just a slight boost in volume, but noticeably thickened the tone of my Tele; gave it a fatter sound.

By playing with the gain/tone/volume controls you can way overdrive your amps input, or overdrive the pedal's tube, or go from a wide-open tone treble boost, the a deep bass boost.

I will get some a vid clip and schematic soon I hope.

Here's a crappy video clip (http://www.facebook.com/v/2589560548022). The camera microphone compresses the sound, so it's not like hearing it in person. This is how I usually run it, getting just a slight boost and a little bit of dirt. Turn the gain and tone up, and it can get some serious rock tones. I like the versatility that this pedal offers.
