Noisy Volume pedal, shield it?

Greetings gang,

Well I have a morley stereo volume pedal and it picks up interference at times.
So I was spraying a little contact cleaner in to it and saw that in incoming wires are not shielded.
Will it help to change those out for shielded wires or since the entire box is connected to the neg it is a shield?

It might help but adding a 1K resistor in series on the input followed by a 100pF capacitor to ground should remove the RFI interference.

Ok, well, I tried to use it again today and unplugged it within the first 2 minutes because it was too noisy.

Thusly I am keen to try what you suggested.

Alas, I am confused as to placement.

You're close bit you want it like this. I use this on the fuzz pedals and the like to reduce or eliminate RFI noise. Out leads to whatever is next in the circuit, in your case the volume pot.
