joeismyname September 27th, 2011, 05:22 PM I'm sure the vast majority of you are familiar with Derek Trucks and company, and you have probably heard some of the performances with Derek's wife, Susan Tedeschi, but if you haven't picked it up yet, go and get a copy of their debut album as a combined band ,REVELATOR. You will not regeret it. Somw of the most soulful singing and playing I have ever heard from any album. Anyone would enjoy it, not just someone who loves Derek's playing, but anyone who enjoys good music.
Here is my favorite song on it, and one of my new favorite songs period.

robt57 September 27th, 2011, 05:26 PM Way too much talent for one marriage. ;)
Wonder what they might manage to spawn. Stay tuned in the years to come. ;)
Big_Bend September 27th, 2011, 07:17 PM Too much singing, not enough 10 minute Derek guitar solos, IMO.
bcarter_1 September 27th, 2011, 08:04 PM Love the rythem Telecaster...

It's not all about the Guitar you know...
[Did I type that out loud?]
bugbiteaudio September 27th, 2011, 10:05 PM Man, Trucks consistently blows my mind. I'm not sure there is a living guitarist who can expose their soul through their guitar more beautifully than he.

Thank God!
Always loved Susan work but never liked Derek's band, altought I love his playing. This is a wining combination and I hope they keep the band runing for many, many years.

What are you talking about?
I saw their set on the Crossroads 2010 DVDs and I kept wanting Derek to just cut loose as only Derek can... and he never did.
They do seem to make for a very sweet and talented couple tho and I wish them only the best in life.
Lost_N_Austin September 28th, 2011, 10:03 AM I received my new Guitar Player magazine in the mail yesterday. I don't think it on the news stand yet. These guys are on the cover and featured inside. Very nice article that covers gear and musical influences. I saw Susan T. a couple of times when she taped at the Austin City Limits studio and was very impressed. I'll be checking out this album.

I'm hoping you meant "Winning" combination. And not a comment on their playing.

I just noticed that winning is with two "n". I didn't knew that!
What "wining" means?!?

Don't worry about it. You do a lot better in English than I would do in Portuguese.
"wining" doesn't mean anything. "whining" means complaining.

The post was tongue in cheek, I for got emoticon/
boris bubbanov September 28th, 2011, 01:41 PM What "wining" means?!?
I think it means opening a few bottles and tasting each bottle until it is gone.
Wine is better after the show is over.
Of course we knew exactly what you meant all along.
joeismyname September 29th, 2011, 12:26 AM my theory as to why they sound so great together is because Susan's soulful and bluesy voice goes perfect with Derek's soulful slide playing, which actually sounds like a woman singing to me.
a match made in heaven for all to enjoy.
