First telecaster build

Hello everybody,
today i've started my first build. I've been thinking about building a telecaster for a long time and i think now the time has come to give it a try: I have the right motivation--a newborn soon who, sooner or later, will need a telecaster --and two great slabs of larch (approx. 15"x23", 2" thick).
By the way: does anyone have some experience with larch?
I attach the template finished (more or less...) as well...
Thanks in advance for the support.

Here's the shaved larch plank. Due to some concavity of the piece i had to reduce its thickness to 4.3 mm (about 1.7"): it's slightly less than the original thickness, but that's ok.
There are also some superficial cracks and plane marks: some sanding ans some paste wood filler should fix the issue...

Ok, as i said somewhere else, i'm back. Some unexpected issues and a LOT of newbie mistakes took me away from the project. Basically, apart from the unexpected issues, what i did was ruining that nice plank of larch. I was too hasty and lost control of the router bit... that chew off both the template and the plank. No way to save both.
Now here i am again, this time i'll try with a fir slab... I'll post some photos asap. Wish me luck.
In the meantime: could anyone suggest me some thread about neck finishing with linseed oil?
Thank you all in advance!

Ice - sorry to hear about the larch! Live and learn, though - I'm working on my first tele build and managed to mis-rout my neck. Very frustrating.

Regarding linseed oil for finishing your neck - are you using straight linseed oil, or "boiled" linseed oil, or a linseed/varnish mix?

Good luck and we don't make "mistakes", we "regroup and go in a different artistic direction"
