I use to have a mint American made Tele bass. Was probably an early 70 or late 60 model. About 35- 40 years ago. It was white and absolutely beautiful. Wish I still had it. Looking at the prices of the vintage ones; I definitely wish I would have kept it!

Hehehe. I bet we've all got stories like that. I threw away a mid 60 Selmer "Treble 'n' Bass 50 MkII" valve amp because it didn't fit in with my fancy solid-state rack mount rig and nobody else wanted it. But don't look back - what's done is done - move on {sob}.

Yea! Just reminiscing. I have a Washburn Bass. I don't know how old or how much it is worth, probably not much since I made my own pick-guard for it, and put tone and volume controls and new pickups on it. It has the P Bass style. Not bad, I play it every now and then. I bought it from a guy around 10 years ago. It was pretty much gutted, so I added some stuff to it. I would like to have another bass, but I'm not sure which brand. I kind of like the old Tele style. But it looks like they don't make that one anymore and a used one is gonna cost bucks. Some of the newer bass styles are cool and a lot of them have 5 and 6 strings or more. So, it's gonna take a while to decide. I have even contemplated a stand up Bass. That's what I started out on. I like the fretless feature because you can slide right into the next note and get that real bass tone and feel. I've had several guitars and basses I wish I had kept. I also use to have a Fender P Bass 70 model American made. Wish I had kept that one to! ..... I looked at those guitar and bass projects. Did you build those. Nice work. Different and Amazing! Your talented man!

I thought about a musical, but the original is the best! You know how those redo shows are. There never the same as the original!

I have even contemplated a stand up Bass.
I've been eyeing up the Stagg electric upright recently. Getting some great reviews and seems like good value for the money.

I did. Thanks. Much appreciated. I'm still a beginner really but really enjoying it. Just about half way through #9 at the moment.

I haven't tried an electric standup bass. I think it would be fun. I use to enjoy using the bow as well as the fingers. But an electric standup bass might be a tad bit different than what I use to play in High School. I started out with the Bass Fiddle, full scale, it was as big as I was and I am pretty big. The Bass I played was like hugging your best girl friend it was so big. The sound was up front, you could put your ear right up to the instrument and actually feel the vibrations as you played, I don't think an electric could do that. How much is the stagg in American Dollars. I thought I might ad a link to an article that kind of explains the story of the Fender Tele Bass, the P Bass and Tele are almost one in the same, and I didn't know it myself! Let us know how the standup electric does if you decide to buy it. Looks to me like you might be able to build one. You could do it as a new project. Up to you. Here's the link about the Tele BAss...http://www.evintagebassguitar.com/telecaster-bass/the-telecaster-bass-guitar-a-precision-bass-remake/
