Hi all.
I have a Dunlop Crybaby GCB-95 and really want/need a true bypass. I could modify this one, but with the circuit board issue, it's actually easier just to make an A/B switch (which i really don't want to clutter up my foot space).
any suggestions? best tone? good price?
thanks for the input.

TBP means True ByPass. Here's a link http://members01.chello.se/pastorn/fx/mods/dunlop.htm for a mod I recently didi to my GCB-95. It has photo's and diagrams with an extended instructional section, so it's pretty much foolproof. It sounds great and took LITERALLY 10 minutes to do. You don't have to cut into the circuit board, just de-solder one end of one capacitor, and replace one resisitor (the "gain mod"), solder one new wire in, and replace the stomp switch. Easy! All you'll need to buy is a DPDT (double pole, double throw) stomp switch, a single resistor, and a 6" piece of 20 or 22 gauge wire if you don't have any around (assuming you own a simple soldering iron). PM or email me and I'll walk you through it if you like! :)

thanks Smokin Joe. I'll give this a whirl. if i run into probs, i'll let you know. I am handy around a soldering iron so i should be ok.
thanks again for the input.
TBP=true by pass!!! DOH! i should have figured that TLA out.
TLA=three letter acronym.

After doing the mod I thought, "Gee an LED would be great..." I posted here and found out about using the extra lugs on a 3PDT (THREE pole double throw) switch to wire in an LED. It's simple enough, it's just searching for an inexpensive reliable switch. The Fulltone one's are about $40.00 CDN PLUS tax AND shipping up here. Apparently they're quite well made but I think that price is ridiculous. I've found them as cheap as $10.00 CDN on the net. I'm willing to bet there isn't $30.00 worth of difference in the two switches.

because the crybaby only cost $50. Don't go with the cheapest one 'tho as I busted it within 2 hours of use. The cheapie's have a star shaped configuration on the underside and the shaft punches right thru' the casing after a few good stomps. The one I'm using now cost $10 and is holding up nicely, and it does squeak a little (only audible when noodling at living room levels) but does not produce that speaker shredding 'pop' that the newer VoodooLab pedals produce when engaged. If you really want to blow some dough (17 bucks), Dunlop has reissued Italian inductors that are easy to replace and do improve the tone alot.

Hey Jean-Baptiste, that sounds like something I'd like to try out. Where can I buy one?
I've ALWAYS dug the basic sound of Crybaby's. The only issue was the dreaded "tone suck" when disengaged. Now that mine is has a DPDT switch (during which installaion I realized the architecture is so easy to mod) I don't mind fiddling a bit to get itjust right. And it's relatively cheap to do. Champagne taste with a beer budget! :P
