A git for my big bro

Recently divorced, down and out etc.
A work friend happened to find a guitar by his apt. dumpster and grabbed it to see if I had any use for it.
It's a 70's or 80's Korean Hohner acoustic that needs a little TLC. Missing a couple of bridge pins and a tuner bushing. Neck looks decent with very little fret wear. Body has a bit of rash here and there. Solid top looks spruce-like.
Gonna fix it up and give it to my bro.
He's the reason I started playing to begin with.

This is a case of payback not being a b***h.
Just wanted to share with all you nice folks.

I'll post tonight if I have time.
I'll be making a bushing today at work.
Cleaned her up last night. Unfortunately, no "before" pic.
Lots of fretboard gunk. The only real fret wear is at the 1st position. I don't think it'll be a problem.
I'm pretty sure I have a set of plastic bridge pins somewhere buried amongst my guitar parts boneyard.
I was gonna keep the hardshell case for my camping guitar, but my son, ever generous, convinced me that his uncle deserves the full deal.
Can't argue that!

Here's a couple of pics. New bushing on the low E. Old Martin bridge pins. New old set of Martin Marquis strings.
She's no D28, but there's no fret buzz and the intonation is actually pretty ok.
Hopefully it'll bring a smile to his face.
The coolest thing to me is that it didn't cost me anything but a little bit of time.

Theoretically, I'll see him this weekend.
I'll try to get a pic at the right moment.

Saw my bro on Sat. at a gig. He was unable to take the guitar with him 'cause he rode up on his bike. A very brief moment of wistfullness in his eye, then he was all smiles.
I got "WTF?, are you serious?" and "you did this for ME?"
He lives a couple of hours south of me, so I'll drive it down to him this week.

Some of the Hohners are nice guitars.
